Playing favorites

I took some new favorite photos of Hank, Lucy, and Alan over the weekend.

Of all the things I like about this one of Hank, it's the piece of his long tail
being propped up by the long grass that makes it my favorite.
Plus, his jaw is hiding his knobby knee, so I don't instantly worry about him
when I look at this picture.

I have a tendency to include the whole face when I photograph donkeys
because what is a donkey without its ears? This one proves me wrong.

Alan, sweet Alan. I want you all to meet him in person
so you'll understand how a donkey can be sweet.

This is not a great picture of George but I would hate for him to feel left out.
One mustn't play favorites.

  1. I looked at that same big ole moon Monday morning as I left for work. Funny how we see the same things but are so far from each other. So thankful to the internet and you for the great pics of the herd. So far, but so close.

  2. OF COURSE a donkey can be sweet! Alan's living proof & I've adored him since I found your blessed blog. He is not only sweet, he's a crackpot, which makes him doubly dear. Lucy is so pretty in that photo & Hank can't stop being handsome. Which does not leave out honey George, who gets a special hug around his lovely gray neck & a big ear scratch!

  3. for Hank's knee, does he prefer heat or coldness? I dont know the wordss in English but there are things with gel inside you can wrap the knee with, they can be warm (put in micro wave) or icy (put in the fridge), it is only external but really helps moving, all this apart from the medication of course

  7. Wonderful pictures. I very much believe Alan is sweet. He makes me want to be a better person. I mean he makes me want to rescue a donkey. Aunt Jean

I love the lighting in these photos. And I always thought that Hank has such expressive eyes. I love the way he looks in the first photo.
