Dreaming of a place in the sun

Another storm moved in late yesterday afternoon.
These pictures are as dreary as my mood.

  1. What, you don't heat the cat food, too?

  2. Hey, a snowy day is fun! Yours don't last for half the year like where I grew up. Cuddle up & enjoy! At first I thought you were microwaving a huge chocolate-chip cookie -- "What a yummy way to keep warm," sez I. JCC must have liked it as much as I would've liked a cookie. My neighbors put chicken brooder warmers in their outdoor cat condos; makes them so cozy, I wouldn't mind crawling in! Hope you've warmed up by now.

  3. That was us last year with all the stinking ice and cold. We had a week long stretch where we couldn't even make it to our mailbox let alone a store. We are super grateful for our mild winter so far. So....maybe you can look forward to this being a once in a lifetime winter and next year will be back to normal.
Just so glad you have power and water!

  4. Lucky, lucky Johnny. Heated blankie. I note he waited for the "good stuff" before beginning to eat.

  9. I'm in Colorado with snow on the ground since Christmas. I love it because I don't have to get out in it. I picture your cuddled up with wine in front of the fire. I hate the other picture where you scoop poop, clear paths and all the other have-Tos outside. Hoping for a return to seasonally appropriate weather soon. Aunt Jean

It's one thing to endure long winters when they are expected but quite another when they are not. Hang in there, it will get better! I looked at Accuweather's long range forecast for your area and you should be back to more normal temps the middle of next week. BTW, I thought our cat was spoiled but JCC has him beat, lucky boy!

  11. I feel your pain...sort of. We've had a miserable, rainy, cold winter. We didn't get your snow but the rain is just as gloomy. We aren't used to this many days without sunshine.( did that sound whiney? )

  14. I wish I could perk you up. Your in for another round after we get hit. But it is a welcome sight for us. We haven't seen rain and snow like this since 1971. I kid. It just seems that way. Now all we can do is hope our so called "fixed" levee's don't break! Have a wonderful weekend. Your pictures are so beautiful!

  16. Even though the mood is dreary I love your pictures today. Great choice - black and white. VERY IMPRESSED with JCC's heating pad for his bed. What a super idea. Hang in there. Summer is ahead of us somewhere!

  17. Living in the Great White North, those shots don't look at all dreary to me. But then, when temps here soar up over +40 degrees celcius, I wilt a little bit so I think I can commiserate with how you feel.
I especially like the black & white photos, which would also be lovely in sepia tones.

  19. How long does Johnny's heating pad retain heat? I need one for my old, outdoor cat...

  20. JCC is one spoilt 'barn' kitty. Hey, think I can smell that cat food from here! Hang in there, Carson. It won't be long until things brighten up there! We could do with a bit of snow here in Western Australia to out out some of the damned fires, so you are welcome to send it our way.
