Back where we belong

It was warm enough yesterday afternoon for Smooch and I to hang out in the sunroom.
A year ago, the sunroom was just beginning to take shape. It has turned into our favorite place to be. Ever.

There's nothing to do in the sunroom except relax. And play Sudoku on the Kindle
that I'm still getting the hang of. Like I didn't have enough technology in this house.

This is the one place where Smooch drops her guard...

 ...sort of.

I still haven't finished decorating the room, but I have made a step forward.
I found a seamstress on Etsy to make cushions for the backs of the café chairs.

I sent Marguerite a picture of the chair and the dimensions, picked out the fabric (to complement the hanging snake in the corner),
and she ran with it. I couldn't be happier with the result. Oh, how I love Etsy.

Anyway, there's no place Smooch and I would rather be than in the sunroom.

JohnnyCashCat thinks it might be a great place to hang out, too...

...but for now, Smooch has declared the room off limits to feral beasts.

They'll work it out eventually.

  2. Etsy is such a neat thing on so many levels. It gives artists and such a place to offer their wares without a huge initial investment, great for test marketing, and it give the buyer a zillion options!
Always good to coordinate your cushions with your snake!

  5. Love the chair backs. The picture of Smooch between the white rails with the southwestern fabric behind her: gorgeous! Love JCC, but am rooting for Smooch to have her haven. A good and faithful watchdog/companion deserves it.

  9. The sun room is everything we all knew it would be when you started it. And Smooch is in doggie heaven (especially if she keeps excluding JCC from her special place with Mom).

Curious if the Kindle gets glare in there. My Kindle Fire does not work well in sunny environs. First generation KF. I mainly use it for reading and listening to baseball on the MLB at bat app. Glare doesn't matter for baseball and the wifi extends around the outside of the house. I have to put it in a carpenter's apron pocket to move around with it though.

Happy Sunday. Photos are great. Love the happy chair cushions.

  10. I'm so envious - of the sunroom, of the chair cushions that coordinate with a snake, of the amazing sunset photo.

  12. Your sun room looks absolutely comfy, I wish I could be there. Yesterday was such a lazy day as the wind began to pick up and the sun was shining bright with the temps finally rising to the 40's to melt the snow. The cushions look wonderful.
