Sunroom by day, planetarium by night

The sunroom is done.

The green floor looks stunning, when it isn't dusty. Which is never. Oh well.

I hope the novelty of the new space wears off soon, because nowhere on my miles-long spring to-do list
is an item called "lay around and enjoy the sunroom."

Yet that is all that Smooch and I want to do.

To be able to "sit outside" without the wind blowing us around is bliss.

And when the sun goes down and the stars come out, it really is like sitting in a planetarium.

Smooch: We should have done this years ago.

  4. Does your sunroom face east? I'm just thinking that afternoon sun might make it hot and I don't see a ceiling fan...or do you have one? Hehehe...we'll be out for a visit! (just kidding)...I'm out working on our front porch today. It would make a nice sunroom, but it gets the dreaded southern exposure and in summertime it would be VERY warm!

You did a great job. It is beautiful. It is obvious that Smooch fells the same way. What a great place for both of you to spend time together.

  8. Smooch: But Mom, the pillows block the view from my daybed!

  9. It looks so inviting. You really have to add "sitting on the daybed doing nothing" to your to-do list at least 3 times a week.

  11. Congratulations! it's done, now you will be able to enjoy. until it becomes an habit, it is difficult to program time for rest, but now you have a very attractive place for it.

I am surprised you don't have a telescope. That room would be perfect for star gazing especially during the winter months.

  14. You should have a fabulous view of the PanStarr comet. It is on a 100,000,000 journey, which means we are probably the only people that will ever see it, because the next time it comes around I'm quite sure we will have used up all the planet.

  15. What a perfect addition you've made for yourself and Smooch. I should imagine that the time spend in your sunroom would be just what you can delight in. Safe from the elements and out closer to what Mother Nature has blessed you with. I envy your view of the night sky. I bet is it glorious.
Thanks for your peek into this lovely peaceful space. And I love your "non St. Paddy's day" colored green floor. Great green. Oma Linda

  16. The Indoor Outdoor Room is the reward space. Do something, sit for a few. Do something more, sit for a few. Darkness falling, sit for a few. End of the day, sit for a few.

Appreciating the gifts in your life: priceless.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

  20. I hope the novelty doesn't wear off for a long time. I'd be out there a lot with a big grin on my face.

    Looks like Smooch approves.

  23. Great room. The floor turned out beautifully! I agree that adding 'spend time in the sunroom' to your daily 'to do' list is a good idea. Good luck keeping Wynnona out of there. :)
