Going out on a limb

It was a beautiful morning, and I could think of no better way to spend it than in the company of the boys. After a few misguided attempts, I finally found them.

Deets climbed down from a tree to greet me, providing all the inspiration I needed for the morning's photo shoot.

Act your age. Get your butt back down here before you hurt yourself.

But look at these views and these shadows. Finally, a fresh perspective!

Psst...Lyle...don't look now, but I think she's gone off the deep end.

You're going to fall! Get down this very minute! Who will feed us if you hurt yourself?!

I'm not kidding here. Step down from the tree limb.

Follow me.

Now don't you ever climb up there again. Have I made myself clear?

  1. By the look on Deets face, he's totally serious! Great shots though.

  3. Sometimes it's just necessary to change the view. Simmer down, Deets.

  4. Deets is very stern, isn't he?
After all, though, you have no claws or balancing tail...

  5. Everything is perfect in your little corner of the world. Wish I was there!
    Best always, Sandra

  8. Do you have your cell phone and do you have cell service when you are clambering in the trees -- you know, just in case someone falls?

  9. Isn't it funny how you can read a cat's thoughts sometimes? He was totally scolding you.

  10. Deet's worried expressions were for real - I have never seen him so agitated as when I was in that tree. I truly believe he wanted me to get down.

Penni, I try to remember to carry my cell phone whenever I'm outside, in case I do something stupid. The funny part is, the only way I can get service is to go to a high spot...like up a tree!

  13. Great perspective! How sweet of Deets to be so concerned...just like you are of him when coyotes are about! Animal/human bonds are a gift~~

  14. LOL - Deets would make a good state trooper with that "step away" stare!

    Love the new perspective.

  16. It's a good thing Smooch wasn't there to add a few choice words. I love the image of Deets against that old gray gnarly tree trunk. Yup, I can just picture that dried up twig snapping under your foot...

P.S. I posted a photo of the girl I have my eye on, on my facebook page...(I'm so excited, can you tell?)

  17. So glad you didn't have a soggy limb to climb up on, they give way the easiest!
Absolutely loved the "1000 yard" stare Deets gave you; it's amazing what our "furry friends" are thinking and what they really could say if they could talk....hmmmm, maybe I wouldn't want to know? Loved the "view" from the tree!!!

  18. Deets actually looked very concerned! But as always with cats, it's all about them. He probably was thinking exactly what you wrote... who will feed me if she gets hurt?

  19. Listen to me: Listen to the cat...you don't have 9 lives like he does!

  21. Think what you will, but I think that look was because you invaded Deets' own space!

  24. Lol, that looks exactly like that's what Deets is saying. WHY is Mom climbing my trees?!
I'm glad you still do that. It's important to climb a tree once in a while!!
