Waiting for the coffee to be done

6:20 a.m.
The boys have come up to the barn and passed inspection. No scrapes, no cacti in their manes or tails, no worries. Morning chores are done, and the coffee is brewing. Smooch and I spend a few quiet moments out back, watching the sun come up. Life is good.

  1. I actually buy pinon roasted coffee from New Mexico at Trader Joe's - so I'm enjoying a cup with you right now - only the view is a bit more woodsy here. I love those big skies you've got! Not to mention the gorgeous pup....

  6. I am loving all the rain at night. Isn't it great to wake up to the sun rising, while the grass has been greened-up, and the scent of pinons and junipers are wafting throughout the clean, fresh air?

    Aaaahhhh...Monsoon Season is here! :)

  7. Coymackerel, Smooch weighs about 35 pounds, about the size of a Beagle I suppose.
