A few more minutes with Alex...

...with a few heart-racing seconds toward the end.
Just when you think your puppy will follow you anywhere and never leave your side,
she takes off and scares the crap out of you.
Spoiler alert: it ends well, of course.

  2. funny and exciting! I guess there must be sooo many strong smells for her over the area where the donkeys eat and the chicken sleep, it could be overwhelming

This is the time when you always have treats in your pockets, lol. She seems a little unsure of herself at times and yet confident enough to run off on her own. Little bugger! Maybe have her drag a thin long line for a while??

    1. Treats is a good idea! Our 9-month old puppy now comes to the word "COOKIE!" pPretty reliably, unless she sneaks more than one pasture away, then it's pretty iffy. But she's getting better! I have more kibble crimes in pockets of all my coats and jeans than you want to know!

  4. Giiirrrrrllll. That even made me nervous. I hope Smooch starts giving her tips on "hearing" snakes. Summertime is upon us. Hope everyone sleeps well tonight!

  5. So cute...but yes, scare the heck out of you. For my guys I had a collar and really long leash I would let drag, if the started to run I could step on the lead and stop them in their tracks. Only took a couple of times for them to get the idea that you could only venture so far.

  9. OMG. I'm dying. How many times when I was ranch sitting did you remind me to "close the gate behind you so the animals don't get out into the back 40"? I repeat. I'm dying here. Thanks for the spoiler alert. It's your voice. I've been imitating the "such a good girl" with my cats -- not quite as effectively. Alex is my new favorite neice. Sister Kat

  10. What a good girl she is! She seems to be REALLY smart, and once she and Smooch start to hang out together, Smooch will be a great teacher and example for her. Love seeing these progress reports! She's a cutie pie.

  11. How great that she is so focused on you! It just occurred to me that sooner or later she will discover donkey poop! Cringe!
