A return to the back 40, the 2016 edition

This is the same music I used for the 2015 edition, "Autum Gold" from David Tolk.
Don't be surprised if you hear it again on the 2017 version. I love traditions.

  1. So peaceful. And those underbelly shots are unique. What you won't do for a good photo. Johnny's tail tells what he thinks about this venture into the pasture.

  2. What a way to start the day! I smiled the whole 4:56 of the video.
    Thank you!

  4. Who was more excited about accessing the pasture again? You or the donkeys? The golden light is beautiful!

  7. I loved it last year, this year, and will next year! Surprise on Thursday...okay, I'm hooked. Why do cats ALWAYS hustle right in front of us & then slow waaaayyy down?

  8. I just love soft burro noses and their warm breath.
I was cracking up when you ran after them and they high-tailed it out of there!
The golden light was so beautiful with that sky!

  11. "No stampede!!" - "OK, Mom." (x 3) - And then Rancher Woman goes and *causes* a mini-stampede. Humans!;-)
Oh, I've found that videos from my Place of Dreams get me to multitask: Swoon + sigh + smile from ear to ear + get water in my eyes, all at the same time!! Better than Netflix!
P.S. Thursday!! There *was* a Steve-sighting not too long ago, and I hope that counts. :-)

  14. I keep forgetting how much land you have. Do they come back to the barn every morning? I'm itching to find out what the surprise will be on Thursday...a new herd member, perhaps? :)

You told them "no stampede", then you start one!! lol

All the colors are so beautiful! And I love the shot where you put yourself in the middle and did 360 degrees with the camera! Sooooooo wonderful to see all that land and not a house or building in sight!

    Looking forward to Thursday! =D

  17. They must be so happy to ditch the grazing muzzles and fly masks this time of year! Can't wait for the Thursday surprise...hay delivery?
