Maybe next time

  1. I hate to break it to you but Lucy doesn't want anything to do with the house. I think she knows how much George and Alan will laugh if she takes up crochet. But clearly, the girl is too sweet to hurt your feelings by just saying so. What a doll!

  2. I'm having a great chuckle at this one. Yep - Lucy thinks your barn is much to busy. She wants her sparely decorated room back in the big barn! ;)

  3. Sweet Lucy...maybe she was afraid of the desk chair? It is a little scary ;-)

  4. I think Lucy is on to you. Oh, yes, today it's "Lucy, come in and have a look around." Tomorrow, it's "Lucy, run the vacuum. Lucy, do the laundry. Lucy, don't forget to dust. Lucy, did you start dinner yet?" Run, Lucy, run the other way!!!!

  5. This is so familiar, I couldn't watch the entire thing. I learned right away that pulling on the donkey's rope does not work (now we have divots in the door frame from her pulling back violently).

But tossing treats on the floor did work. I got one hoof in the door finally as she reached for more treats on the floor, and then the next day suddenly she stepped right in the house.

If only it would work with trailer loading. Or creek crossing.

  6. Maybe she's afraid of the shiny metal threshold.

  7. I could almost bet that George and Alan would walk right in. Lucy is not so sure. :) You are too funny!

  8. Well we all know who is really boss around there! :)

  9. She's going to remember where she got all those yummy treats! (Is it weird for me to say I wish Justina could always stand in that corner right there?) :-)

  10. You know those mats you have in the barn? Try laying one of those across that shiny metal threshhold before you lead her up on the porch. Then like lytha says, let go of that rope and throw the treats on the floor! Come oooooon Lucy, you can do it!

  11. We've always said that entertainment comes cheap when you live in the country. She is too adorable!!

  12. I think for now Lucy would be content to join you on the porch for margaritas.

  13. JCC was probably all "wtf, Lucy! Just go in the damn house! I wish she'd throw treats at me to do the same!"
Fun times with Justina! We do need to see more of your faces in the next post, though :-)

Somehow, I get the feeling that Lucy doesn't like the feel of that round rug just outside your door. It feels like she's trying to avoid stepping on it for some reason...???

I think if you let George and Alan in the house, Lucy would push through from behind! ha ha!

  15. Maybe it's because the door is narrow & the glass reflects her image
