My therapist eats hay

I tried my best yesterday to not be overwhelmed by the work that awaited me upon my return from a few days off.
I failed. By the end of the day, I was frazzled. So I stole a few minutes to walk outside and do the only thing
that's guaranteed to calm my nerves and soothe my soul.

My therapist eats hay.

She would have listened to me for hours had George not come between us
for a butt scratch and pissed her off made her jealous.

Johnny would have curled his tail around my ankles and otherwise tried to cheer me up...

...had George not run him off.

Me: George, you're not helping here.

George: Oh, but I am. Watching me chase the cat has taken your mind off all your work, hasn't it?
Me: You're right.

Leave it to the animals to help me keep things in their proper perspective.

  7. So well put!
The sweetest sound when I'm crashed out on my couch at night, is the nibbling of hay, done by my indoor rabbit Hendrik.
Okay, the scale is different, but the effect is exactly the same!

  9. It's okay to short the work time in favor of therapy. Highly recommended in fact.

Nobody can make you lighten up on yourself except you. Listen to Lucy and George and JCC. This is a time to find a slow gear. Home and hearth take priority. I am pretty sure that nobody is pushing you to "catch up" except you.

  10. I hope you had a good night's deep sleep and feel better today. Your babies are all around to show you love. I have already confessed my addiction to your blog, but now I've got my hubs (big, burly construction guy) calling me during the day asking what's Smooch up to today, did you see Wynonna, the 3 musketeers (donks) what are they doing, how about JCC? Mind you, he forgets to ask how I am!! I forgive him, I totally understand. Great photos as always, especially the last one....so serene :-)

  11. My gang drive me crazy but they are the keepers of my soul. It it wasn't for them, I would not be.

You are lucky to have all of them and they are to have you.

    xo,
    JC

  12. I had to deal with trying to communicate with the healthcare exchange. The dog helped settle my grrrr afterwards.
You should make a card with a photo of Lucy and the "my therapist eats hay" quote. Adorable!

  18. Two years ago I left the fringes of the Sonoran desert for relentless Los Angeles, a desert of another kind. For love, nothing else could have induced such a move. You can imagine how much I miss the long burning sunsets, clear wide horizons and the scent of wet creosote bush. But on this blog, for a few minutes every day, I have them back. Thanks and blessings to all.

  19. Yup~ That's what our animals are for. While I was home for 10 days after suffering a CONCUSSION (at school)...my indoor cat sat on my lap every day. Ripley, my black lab, curled up next to me on the floor by the bed. Only Lady, our rehomed German Shepherd, was indifferent to my condition~ HA!
