Home, home on the range

The homecoming yesterday went as expected. I cried.

Superhero Don trucked us in around 10 a.m. It was clear sailing, give or take a few drive-through ponds,
which Don enjoyed much more than I.

I sat around most of the day, just taking it all in and savoring every single moment.

We ventured out a few times to hang with the herd. CeeCee is doing all my multi-tasking for me.

Smooch is loving my re-entry diet because she gets to lick the bottom of every yogurt cup.

  17. Yippie.. It's great you are home Carson. And splashing through a few mud puddles didn't hurt one bit, did it? Maybe you should try it barefoot next time. I hope you are back to being able to do all you want to do soon. Dave Gibbons

  19. Welcome Home Carson - in your situation, I'd have been a wet noodle, but you've managed (I know, you had help) to keep us fully engaged in the ranch and in your predicament with grace and humor AND we got to see Danni and meet your sister and Cee Cee. There was never a dull moment. You're amazing.

  20. And I cried too when I saw the first picture. Betting there were lots of us crying happy tears and wishing we could be there to help ( and to make you remember to behave for a while).

  30. So glad you are finally home! The picture of Smooch greeting you made me cry! I know how much you missed her and everyone else. BIG HIGH FIVE to CeeCee for keeping things going. SO GLAD YOU ARE HOME!

You have the rain, we had 77mph winds AND rains yesterday. Now we have blown over trees and fence to fix! It is a mess at my house right now. Hubby gets a new chain saw though! LOL

  31. Aww Smooch looks like she is ecstatic and about ready to wag her tail off in the first photo.
So glad you are back home and comfortable. You will rapidly improve healthwise now!

  33. So happy! "Xena" just came over here to send another hug! All the critters here send their love.

"Tiger's" barn is coming along fine. Daddy and I are diggin' and fillin' and fencin' and gating. Now the vet won't have to crawl through the fence to treat him in the barn aisle. Doc Smith must hate visiting him in the barn. Best news, 12 inches of muck and mud will be replaced with gravel, screen, clay, in two layers topped with stall mats. Have to get it done before my surgery on Sept 24th!

Welcome home! Thank you to all the ranch sitters and Don for getting you home. What an amazing group of friends?!!

I had asked many months ago who would take care of the ranch if you got ill or had an accident, now I know.

    wishing you a speedy recovery.

  39. Funny, I read the second panel, with you in your hot-pink socks in bed on your sun porch, as "Don tucked us in..." I thought how sweet, then had a good chuckle when I realized he "tRucked" you in.

I hope you and CeeCee are having a great time meeting in person.

    Heal well.

  45. Gentle (((Hugs))) to you. I hope you're over the trip. That dirt road had to be painful. I won't try to tell you what to do or what NOT to do. Just take good care of yourself and enjoy being home. I know your animals had to be excited to see you even though they've been loved on. No one can really take your place.
