Home on the range...at last

There's no place like home, traveling sucks, and I'm 2 for 2 with having the best ranchsitters in the world.

When I arrived home Monday night, the house was cleaner, there was more food in the kitchen,
and Smooch had two more toys than when I had left.

The ranchsitter even kept track of egg production and left me fresh tomatoes!

Smooch: Don't get me wrong...I love Aunt Betty and she took better care of me than you do,
but don't you dare leave me again. Ever. Deal?
Me: Deal.

  3. Poor Smooch, such mixed emotions.

Next week we're going on a quick 3 day getaway into the Smokies, and being as dogs aren't allowed on most trails there, Wally will have to be kenneled, oops, I mean he will be going to "the spa". We always say that so he'll think he's special and having a good getaway too. He can't fool us though as he is spoiled there. The girls give him lots of love, play time and treats!

  14. Every once in a while, you do need to get away. Just to relax. It makes us love home more. When time goes and we wish for a get away, then we go. It's called life.

So glad you found someone to take care of your beloved fur balls.

That is always the struggle I have.

  16. Well, I enjoyed your vacation and it seemed to have gone by very fast!

There's no place like home, though and there's no dog like Smooch!

Did the donkeys give you the cold shoulder?

  19. Aw, how sweet. I love to travel and explore, but I'm not the fan of air travel that I used to be. And, now that I have my home in the country, I know how you feel - I don't want to leave either - not even to go to town for groceries.

    Welcome home.
