Getting ready for bed

Once I resigned myself to the fact that the new sunroom would not be wide enough to accommodate the hanging swing bed 

of my dreams, I set about looking for a suitable substitute. I envisioned a comfortable spot that I could sit on 

during the day and sleep on during hot summer nights. Turns out the solution was right underneath me.

I would de-uglify the guest room daybed and move it to the sunroom. 

The black paint would have to go, and don't even get me started on the brass finials. Blchh.

Given the white window trim, white doors, and white ceiling in the new room, 

I figured I could do no harm with a white bed. I did my homework and found this stuff.

It was supposed to create a hammered texture on the metal surface.

Let's just say that the texture is more tack hammer than sledge hammer. I was hoping for bigger dents.

But at least it covered up the ugly brass. I sprayed on two coats of regular satin, then one coat of the hammered. 

Maybe if I had used three coats of hammered, the texture would be more noticeable. Live and learn. Or get hammered and not care.

Once the bed is made, it's not like you see alot of the frame anyway. I think it will look quite nice

when it's in front of the sunroom window instead of the off-center art in my bedroom.

Even with all the pillows and a new quilt, though, I can't help but feel something is missing...
