Who will miss them the most?

I got to spend the last day of my vacation today at home with my animals and Ethel and the Ethelettes.

It was warm enough for a ride/walk around the ranch,

although we had to stop every once in awhile when George would block the trail.

George: A little to the left, please.

If Ethelette #1's city friends could see her now...

George: A little to the right, please.

It's a toss-up as to which of us will miss our ranchsitters the most when they leave tomorrow morning.

Lucy is thriving on the extra attention,

as is Wynonna,

and Smooch.

George: Down just a little bit to the left. Perfect.

George: Maybe if I break her other ankle, they'll stay a little longer.

  1. Welcome back! Yes, we missed you but not nearly so much if Ethel hadn't been so quick with the camera and e-mails.

I hope you had a wonderful time with your parents.

    Jo, Stella and Zkhat

  2. Awwww..... We're gonna miss them too!!!! (Especially that handsome cowboy)

And Hank is going to miss his ranch hand crush.....

    Glad you are home safely!!!

  3. Isn't it wonderful to discover that you can go away and wonderful people can take care of the crew?!

Glad you are home. Hope you enjoyed the visit with your parents. Your ranch hands have done such a great job, I know they will be missed. Hope they have a great trip home with lots of great memories.

  5. I adored your awesome ranch sitters and wish them a safe journey home. They were dynomite... as is evident by the herd love shown.
Glad you're back in NM but hate to see the Ethelettes depart. Hasta la vista.....Oma Linda

  6. Glad to hear you're home and that you could spend time with everyone.
Thanks to Ethel and Ethelettes for entertaining us the last few days.
Looking forward to hearing about Florida.

  7. "Maybe if I break her other ankle..."
Yes, the master-ess of the punchline is back! :)

  8. Thank you Ethel and the Ethelettes for entertaining us with your week on the ranch! Y'all come back now, ya hear? :)

  9. Estella from Co.11/14/12, 5:54 AM

So glad to know you made it back all safe and sound and look forward to hear about your visit with the the family. How nice to you had such GREAT ranchsitters. Hugs to all

  10. i always smile all the way through your post. i love the smooch shot and the wynonna shot, both made me feel good. i did not realize you can ride your donkeys.

  11. Ethel and the Ethelettes did a great job, took some great photos and definitely kept up with all the necessary scratchins and lovins. They set the bar high for any future ranchsitters.

  12. I love that you were able to confidently get away for some family time. Glad you're back.
Thanks to Ethel and her kiddos for keeping us updated---not sure I could have gone 3 days w/o seeing your critters.

  13. Uh oh...what will Hank do when the object of his desire leaves? I see some serious pining in his future.

I'm glad to see the lovely Miss Wynonna came out to enjoy the sun and bid the papparazzi farewell.

  14. Welcome back! I am happy that you were able to spend some time with your parents! I too really enjoyed Ethel and the Ethelettes. They did a great job! I am wondering what is in the can that is next to Wynonna. Beer? Soda? Bakeds beans? (No pork of course!)

  15. Welcome home! Your ranch sitters were just fantastic, great pictures, terrific stories. So glad you had time with your parents. I'm sure your "kids" are happy to have mom back home.

  16. Aw - your ranch sitters are the best...thanks for sharing the pictures!
