The porcine princess' convalescence

Wynonna has made an amazing recovery from her surgery of six days ago. Can we have an amen to that? Maybe two?
The sutures in her jaw have held, and she has resumed her normal daily routine of sleeping-eating-sleeping-eating-sleeping.

She has to walk about 25 steps to get to her morning and evening meals, so at least she gets a little bit of exercise.
Of course I've been pampering her a little bit more than I usually do, given her recent trauma.
She's gotten dessert with her dinner every night this week.

And of course she eats it first. She's no fool.

Wynonna: Life is short. Must eat dessert before ant steals it.

Wynonna: I wonder which wine would pair well with watermelon and pot-bellied-pig pellets?
Perhaps a sauvignon blanc. Garçon?

Wynonna: Is that all there is?

Me: Don't be a hog. Be grateful for this day and for all your friends who've wished you well.

  6. So glad to see the her Majesty the Porcine Princess still has her sass. So good to see her doing well. But I think a cutie patootie like her might like a sweeter wine with the fare served at the 7MSN Ranch cafe and browsing bar.

  8. Wynonna has her priorities right. I'm so glad to see that she's doing so well! Now that a precedent has been set for dessert with every meal, I sure wouldn't want to be the waiter who tells her that is no longer on the menu in a few weeks...

  11. I don't know the first thing about pigs. Is there a reason you scatter her pellets instead of giving them to her in a bowl or something? Would she snork them up too fast? And you can really keep her in that nice yard and she doesn't mess up the landscaping? My hens, even, would destroy it in a week. I wonder if a pig would keep raccoons out of my yard?

  12. I see she has to work for her dinner, LOL. Another exercise tactic?

  13. So happy that she is doing well. Hey, given the choice I'd have dessert first too! She's a genius in my book.

  14. I just heard a report this morning that a glass of wine a day helps older women have stronger bones. So go for it Wynonna!

  15. Always have dessert first...I learned that from my mother....I love your yard....Do you have to scatter her pellets so she won't woof them down to fast?

  17. Several of you have asked about why I scatter Wynonna's pellets - walking around on the concrete helps wear down her hooves.
