Reason #73 why I love my concrete floor

Because when the wind is blowing so hard that it might
whisk Smooch and I to Texas if we venture outside for a walk,

she can still enjoy a bit of exercise indoors...

...without hurting a doggone thing, if you don't count the toy she's dismembering.

Although she has to be careful when attempting a back flip
so that she doesn't land on her head and knock herself out.

Me: Smooch, remind me next time that we have to play indoors
to dust the floor first, okay?

Smooch: What's the point when it's this windy and there's a sand dune inside the base of every door?

Me: You're right, as usual. We'll worry about dusting once the wind dies down. In July.

  1. Lucky you with those floors!

When Wally goes nuts in the house the carpet takes a beating. I always say it looks like it had gotten plowed when he's done. You know, all those lines that are made from his nails even though we keep them short. The kitchen/dining area is tile, so no damage done there, but when he skids I'm always afraid he'll run head on into an appliance or cabinet. So far so good, so guess his radar is working!

  2. I have dust AND pollen on my floors. Who cares... meh. As long as everyone in the house, two legged and four legged is happy. :-))

  3. Carson, we are thinking about ripping out ALL of our carpets and doing our floor like yours...any tips? After 30 years, the carpets HAVE to go!!!! Too many dogs...sigh..one question, though...do her nail scratch the floor? And, if so, what do you do?

  4. Remind sweet Smooch that the dust on the floors makes skidding that much easier. :)

  5. Just watched a really depressing video on a dog blog. This was the next entry I read and it dried my tears. Thank you.

Smooch is even helping extend the life of your floor. She puts less wear and tear on it when she spends much of her play time with only two or even one foot in contact with it.

  7. Not only does she get exercise but she wears her nails down at the same time.

  9. I love those stained concrete floors and will have one the next time we renovate or move. Seems like the perfect floor for a busy family of kids and animals :)
