Please don't eat the 4 o'clocks

Me: Lucy, must you? It's so rare to see a burst of color out here. It sure would be nice if you didn't eat them.

Lucy: Purple tastes good.

Me: Anything tastes good to you. You do not have...shall we say...a discriminating palate.

Lucy: I most certainly do. For instance, there's no way I would pair these blossoms with red wine.
Only white will do. Now go fetch me some, please – ABC.

Me: ABC?

Lucy: Anything But Chardonnay.

Alan: She prefers Pinot Grigio. A 2005 if you've got it.

  1. Is everybody ok? I think those four o'clocks may have some poisonous parts. Here's one poison control site: http://www.pacc911.org/Poison_Control.html. Yikes!

  3. Thanks, Clairz - 4 o'clocks are not on the toxic list for equines, thank goodness. Apparently mirabilis is toxic to cats, dogs and small animals. Smooch has the good sense to leave it alone.

  4. :) I still can't get over Lucy's dappling. She looks lovely amongst the purple flowers.

  6. Sorry Lucy, I must disagree. Red wine goes with everything ;-)

  7. Hee Hee. Lucy is like that NY Housewife who brings her own Pino Grigio where ever she goes.

And yes, I'm totally ashamed that I know this.

    Have a great weekend!
