It's a matter of perspective

I lost my perspective Monday afternoon when the well guy wouldn't return my calls
and I kept absent-mindedly turning on the faucet thinking water would come out.

I had a little meltdown, thinking I'd never have water again because
not a single well company in the yellow pages would answer their phone.

Justina caught wind of my dilemma through the work grapevine Hi, Norma!, came to my rescue, and recommended a well company who did answer their phone and will be sending out a service guy today. Whew. Knowing that there is help on the horizon is all I needed to see clearly again and keep life's road bumps in perspective.

And when all else fails, I need only to hang out with my herd to be reminded of what matters most...

...having friends, family, neighbors, and blog readers to lean on when I need a little support.
Thanks, everybody!

  1. Whew ... sounds like quite an adventure, and who'd a thought it would be so much trouble getting a well guy to come out!?!?! Glad it's working out and by tonight you should be able to relax in a nice bubble bath or hot shower!

  6. I don't understand companies these days. Had the same thing happen when we wanted to have our driveway paved. People would not answer their phones to give us a quote. I finally just started leaving messages saying that I had called three times and I guess they just didn't want our business nor our word of mouth recommendations to our neighbors...
WHooooaaaa, did that get them calling me back!

  12. I've found that it almost always pays to complain about a bad situation -- you never know when one of your listeners has a handy solution!

  13. Businesses don't operate the same way they used to. Customer service was once upon a time the most important aspect - not now, never again. That last picture of George would have brought me out of any funk I might be in also.. Glad you've found a company that at least answers the phone!

  14. Scrumptious photos!
Not answering the phone must be something they teach at "Well college". Most of the companies around here can't afford or don't want to hire someone to answer phones. Good luck today on getting water.

  22. OMG, George! That is a priceless shot in the last photo. My gawd, you can look goofy. In a good way, of course.

So glad to hear your water problems will soon be over. All kidding aside, that's a scary situation to be in.

  23. I hope they get your water back today. Like I said before, I live on a well system too so I know what it's like to turn the faucet and have nothing come out.

  28. Your last picture is wonderful.

We just turned water on in our bathroom at the project house. It is truly a miracle to see water come out of the faucet! Some day it will be even more miraculous when the water is warm!!

Good luck with the well guy... hope it is just the wires and a simple fix!

  33. You and your herd are in my prayers. Thanks for keeping your chins up! Well, I can't really say that for George. He looks pitiful (sp?) :) And Alan must be saying "You ain't heavy, you're my brother"!

  34. I was sympathetic as I read about your water plight, but I was distracted by the fabulous shots of your animals. The ones with one draping its face over the back of the other one made me want to get my car and drive to your ranch.
