Hank, the self-grooming horse

Hank, you're looking mighty grungy these days,
between the mud, the dirt and the shedding.
Why don't you go on over there and groom yourself?

Be sure to get the underside...

Ok, now turn and do the other side...

Don't forget the tail...

Good job!

  5. Nancy, we're supposed to be in the mid-50s this weekend! Amen.

Michelle, we'll find out how Lyle is doing on a ride tomorrow...if the weather indeed warms up. His appointment with the chiropractor is set for next Friday. Thanks for asking.

  6. Linda, all I can guess is that your home office window faces the paddocks and pasture. How on earth do you catch such fun photo moments??

  8. Shedding already? What? Do you have, like, a 2 week winter there? I'm jealous. Hank looked like he was enjoying himself. That's a great scratchin' post. Couldn't do much better unless he went through a car wash.

  10. Hilarious. I bet that's how wild horses groom themselves. He's a fine looking hunk o' horseflesh.

  11. CeeCee, my office window does look out at the barn, but I'll let you in on a little secret...all the photos in my posts from Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week were all taken over a two-hour period Saturday afternoon. It was finally warm enough to hang outside with the boys, and they were being particularly photogenic.

  13. I bet that feels good. My poor boys don't have anything to scratch themselves on except the snowy ground.

  18. I love grooming animals. Cats, horses, dogs all enjoy a nice massage. It's such a wonderful way to connect with an animal without saying a word. They do tell me when they want more though. It's one of
    my favorite things to do.
    Best always, Sandra
