Elves in training

Alan, look what Grandma sent! She thinks you and George should wear these and help everyone get in the holiday spirit.

Holiday spirit, my ass.

I'm supposed to put that over my ear?

You've got to be kidding!

I kid you not. We've got 26 training days left until Christmas. We'll take it slow, get you used to it one step at a time. You'll get lots of carrots for trying...promise! Let's go see what George thinks of his.

George, I don't think that's what Grandma had in mind.

Stop by tomorrow, when Hank and Lyle audition to be Santa's little helpers.

The hat first then the sleigh. You have a way to go yet to get ready by the 24th . I think your story is even better than a bunch of reindeer. Two horses, two donkeys, a pig, a goat, a dog and an amazing cat leading the team. What a night! That's worth a change in childhood literature. There's a book for you Carson.
    Best always, Sandra

  5. Shoot. I thought it was hats and here's it's a feeding bag. Very festive, though!

  6. Cute post. I have no doubt every critter you have will be donning hats in 26 days! I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

  7. I couldn't wait to see what they sent. Looks like Alan thought the pompom was a nose. They are so patient, but I'm wondering if Hank and Lyle will be. This is a nice Christmas present -- for me!

Hello, Grandma and Grandpa -- and thanks!

  8. Too funny! Hope Hank and Lyle pass the audition. Being an elf is a dirty job but someone's got to do it. Obviously, George and Alan aren't cut out for this.

  10. I snorted when I saw that last one, lol. LOOK AT ALL YOUR SNOW!! Wow! I want to go play in the snow SO BAD, just for a day. Waiting on the high country to get a deep cover and then we're taking the sled up :) But your snow looks fabulous!! Got to convince Wade to move there...

  11. I can see that George is a much better sport about props than his brother.
Stay warm and keep that camera warm. I'm hoping the whole Carson critter crew will get in on the act later. So is their G'ma and G'pa.

  12. How cute! I can't wait to see them give us a fashion show!

  13. That is, hands down, the BEST nose warmer I have ever seen. I think it's the pom-pom on the end that really makes it.

BTW, Linda...I think you need to clean your camera lens. There are white spots all over your photos...

    (P.S. Hi Mom & Dad)

  14. Ha, ha...love the look, George. My husband totally wants Chester donning a Santa hat to be our holiday card this year, but I had told him there was no way Chet would put one of those things on his sensitive ears...but maybe the nose would work, huh? We could swap the white pom pom out for a red one and call him "Rudolf" ...tee hee. :-)
Can't wait to see if there are enough carrots at 7MSN to convince Alan to wear the heat!

  15. WAY too funny! I'm looking forward to 26 days of more photos!

  16. Funny! Baby Doll seems to like wearing hats and wore her Santa hat proudly last year. The only thing she wasn't so sure about was that swinging pom pom when it would swing near her eyes. But treats helped her move past that fear quickly.

Now all you got to do is get the Burrito Brothers hitched up to a cart wearing their Santa hats and they could carry Ms. Claus Rancher Woman in the Christmas Parade. And
    Winona could be Santa's helper!

  17. They might make the cutest elves I've ever seen! I'm seeing a "family photo" in your future!

  18. Advice from one who subjects her horses to that nonsense every year: get some of those antlers attached to a headband and put the hats on over the antlers. The headband sits where the halter band does and they don't mind at all.

Can't wait to see Hank & Lyle's auditions.

  19. RAL! ("rolling around laughing"); hey, just made that up because that is what I'm doing!
Ye gads--I had no idea it was this cold there already!
