A cow of a different color

This is Lily. She belongs to my navigationally challenged neighbor. Normally Lily lives within the confines of my neighbor's ranch, minding her own business with her calf Lucero until such time that he is big enough to go to the sale barn. Lucero will end up in the grocery store. This is, after all, why people raise cattle and why I do not raise cattle.

The time has come for Lily to procreate so that there will be another calf to sell next year. She has been turned out with the herd of Black Angus gangsta cows you have seen here lately. She stands out like...well, like a brown suit at a black-tie dinner.

I fear they have already corrupted her. Could she be flashing me a gang sign?

Or is this just a very unique way of extricating a pesky fly from her nose?

I'm starting to get a complex from all the disrespectful animals around here lately.

Where's the love?

  2. Well, ya know. It is kind of difficult to give someone 'The finger' when you don't have any. :D

Lily is one pretty girl. I hope she at least has some fun during her procreating.
    :D

  3. What, you mean you can't put your tongue up into your nose? I thought everyone could do that.

  4. I definitely can see where you would start to get a complex from such disrespectful animals! It might make you feel a little better if you were to stick your tongue out back at them (although I think I would skip sticking you tongue in your nose....) :)

  6. Lily is quite pretty against all that grass. (even if her tongue is in her nose.)

  7. Lily is a pretty girl, I think she's just got a fly, how could someone be disrespectful to you or Smooch, you're both so tough. Poor Lucero, that's why I could never raise cattle either. I'd never be able to let them go to sale. Say hello to Wynona for me.

  9. Lily is beautiful, she reminds me a lot of my cow named Soda! That first photo is a beauty.

  10. I can flash that same sign and usually do it when I have prepubescent boys to entertain.

  11. Lily is so pretty. I actually have a human brother that can touch his tongue to his nose. Of course it helps that his nose is the size of half his head :)
