You're pulling my leg


Could it be that burros are responsible for this idiom? They do it ALL the time.

    This is one their play gestures, and boy, do they go at it! One will be pulling the other's back leg while they're both trotting! Go figure. If I ever manage to capture it on video, you can be sure I'll post it.
