Some things never change

There comes a point when I have to stop screaming into the void and do it here instead, because these daily press conferences? The excerpts I'm seeing leave me speechless. Why can't anybody stop him? How can we help fix this? There are no easy answers until November, I know, but I feel a little better having asked the questions.
Thanks for listening to me vent. You might want to hit replay on the video now.

Here, this will help, too.
Maggie Mae, Lisa G's 10-week-old Cavapoo:

  1. Thankful some things stay the same, so fun to see George and Alan, just love those two. And...Maggie Mae made it in the 7msn blog, it is such an honor for our girl to be among all your tribe! As it turns out, shelter in place living is great time for a new puppy. She is just as sweet as she is in her picture and pretty fearless too. She has brought so much laughter (and much needed exercise) to such a stressful time. Hope she brings a smile to everyone else too. We just need it to stop raining, because potty training in the rain is miserable.
Stay safe and well everyone, this too shall pass! Lisa G in TN.

  2. I smiled all the way through the video and smiled again at the precious pup. if screaming would help with the problem in the white house, I would do it all day long...

  4. Lord! How I've missed these two! And I've had to limit my news to the PBS News Hour because CNN and MSNBC keep referring to his daily press briefings and I cannot stand to listen to him . Many soft items have been thrown at the tv. It's such a long way to November. Oy.

    Maggie is adorable.

  8. I'd much rather watch George and Alan and their antics than watch the Trump team..or maybe they are similar- knocking each other over at the podium to try to read big numbers..and make promises they don't keep. Argh!!! That Cavapoo, what a doll! Looking for entertainment that brings a smile today, and your blog is an early stop. Thanks!

  10. It was good to have George and Alan give me my morning chuckle. We all need as many laughs as we can get in these times of trouble! Thanks for posting that cute video. And, Maggie Mae is a cutie patootie as well! Everyone needs to see puppy pictures to give the heart a boost! Carson, laugh as much as you can...it's the only way to stay sane;-) https://mainenaturediary.blogspot.com/ AND https://mainenaturegreyhounds.blogspot.com/

  12. Dear commenters who are leaving me less than kind words,
You know these comments are moderated, right? My blog, my rules.

  13. Us Canadians have been watching with a mix of WTF and why is this being supported? I don't know how you are dealing with the incompetence.

The puppy though- she's a sweetie.

  14. First of all, he shouldn't even be in the office. It is beyond my comprehension why he is not in jail instead. If Hillary had said and done the things this repugnant idiot has said and done, she would have been impeached and imprisoned week two. That anyone defends him makes them an idiot as well, and you can't argue with ignorance.

  16. Pure joy to see the boys up to their antics. And pup is adorable.

Do not watch the daily press rally. Not beneficial to anyone. Anything real can be gleaned by journos and delivered in small doses. For real.

I remember Roger Ebert's blog. He moderated it and loved to engage in long battles over some topics. Would keep those threads going for a long time. I would just wait for something new to appear.

Your blog, your domain. I used to read Alan Sepinwall's blog on different places where he worked as a tv critic. He would always post his rules for participation, also moderated. Wouldn't tolerate venom. Those sites all went away. Read him on twitter now. He is tv guy for Rolling Stone.

Almost time for daily update from my governor. He is a good one. Had to close most retail stores as latest measure. Trying to mash that curve down in Kentucky. He knows it is hard but necessary.

  17. This brightened my anxiety-laden day. Thank you thank you! And seriously, if someone doesn't like what you have to say, then they can just not visit here. Smdh

  19. So happy to see the boys are still up to their antics! Made me laugh! And that puppy - swoon!

The rest of the mess coming out of DC - I try not to pay too close attention. Lots of WETA British channel watching going on as I work from home. Also found one channel that plays The Waltons at noon. None of his BS.

Glad to see you back! Hi to Alex!

  20. I've been going through withdrawal for those two! Is your cat still around? Our little male feral kitty died in our garage. We don't know what happened to him...sigh...I still have the 15 year old Russian blue male that our daughter dropped off years ago. He greets me for breakfast every morning and at his age, he doesn't go very far away!

  21. Thanks for the video! I love the circus-like music. George can still tell Alan to butt out like I've seen in the past and Alan, ever the same, just keeps trying and biting. I totally agree with you on the political situation. I can barely wait until November to see his disbelief. He thinks everyone loves him as much as he loves himself. Maggie Mae is adorable. Thanks for trying perks us up. I know it's hard.
