Game on

Game over.

***

I took this picture the first time JCC spotted Alex.
I'm quite certain he rolled his eyes a second thereafter.
For now, he disappears whenever she's outside.
Alex has seen him a few times and simply sits and stares.
I'm not sure where the relationship will go.

I took this picture soon after the first time George and Alan spotted Alex.
Alan brayed so loudly that Alex ran for the back door.

I wonder if she thinks they're loud dogs with big ears?
I wonder if Worried Dog could be a thing? Like Grumpy Cat.

  1. What precious photos and commentary of Alex adjusting to her new life. Love Alex and Smooch playing, but the last photo is priceless!! I’m thinking the braying will take some time to get used to.

  3. Poor baby! Alan was just saying "Hello!" I'm glad to see that Smooch is accepting Alex. Smooch is a good dog and will teach Alex the ways of the good dog.

  6. I think Smooch likes having a girl friend she can play with! “Worried Dog”, I like it.

  7. I agree … that the last picture is the epitome of worry! LOL Absolutely adorable!!
I would have to guess that Smooch is so accepting of Alex because she knows Alex is still a baby and both of them being female … well, more like a Mom and baby or Grandma and grandchild relationship! Auntie Smooth and niece Alex. And once JCC gets use to seeing the newcomer, he'll come around, too … same with George and Alan … she just becomes part of the daily routine!

  8. Alan and George are VERY big dogs. What a big wonderful world Alex is discovering. I'm convinced that Smooch was snickering off camera when Johnny spotted Alex. Worried pup face is sweet. She knew where to go too.

  9. Looks like things are settling down at the 7MSN. I hope JCC comes to meet Alex before she's much bigger. We wouldn't want him to feel he needs to stay away or wander off the ranch.

Oh my, that last picture is pricelss! You could have "caption" contests with some of your photos in the last two days. Good thing you are retired so you have time to take and edit photos, lol.

  12. Yes! Worried Dog could very much be a thing like Grumpy Cat. Alex is the perfect Worried Dog!

  13. It would be best if you could introduce Alex to JCC in a small area and as soon as possible. Then you could hopefully sit down and gently hold JCC and let Alex get close to JCC, all the while telling Alex to be gentle and calm. I know it sounds crazy, but it really works! I do this with all puppies when introducing to cats and also when introducing to chicks or lambs. Of course JCC might want to squirm a bit, but if in a small area, you can just let him loose and hold Alex instead to allow the close contact. It is so great to see Smooch and Alex having fun! You are doing a fantastic job!!!!

  14. Ha ha I cracked up at the last photo and braying Alan! Her face is pure, WTF?!
She prob does think they are “big dogs”
I also love how they do their zoomies together, that’s so good for Smooch.

  17. A 2-wheel drift, good for Smooch! Alan just had to put in his 2 cents, what a super boy. Yeah, Worried Puppy at least is a thing, what a great face.

  20. Worried Dog™ - could definitely be a thing. Sweet Smooch looks like she's warming up to showing a new girl the ropes. ❤️❤️❤️

  21. It is so good to see Smooch so playful. Alex is definitely bringing out the energy in Smooch. I would imagine, given half the chance, Johnny Cash Cat could train Alex quite well. I know our cats trained our puppy in the ways of cats. I would imagine Alan and George will take some time to get used to. They are so much larger and louder than what Alex has been used to. The epitome is watching Alex and Smooch play together. Just warms the heart.

  23. Maybe Alex has never seen a cat before. If they are to be friends now is the time to start with them.
