A spoonful of 7MSN

I received an email last week from long-time reader Judy, who said something that clicked:
Please don’t think that you need to post about “something.” Your photographs
are gorgeous and you should understand that we can never get enough of them.
We love watching all your critters, the gorgeous vistas, the changing seasons,
the beautiful NM sunrises and sunsets, the weather (fog, rain, snow), etc.
A post can be a single photograph... Just a tiny window into your world,
which is so unlike the worlds that most of us live in!
Surely you won’t stop taking photographs, although you no longer have the pressure
of trying to come up with a series of shots day after day. So please consider posting
perhaps a single photograph every couple of days, with or without text.
Maybe take a bunch of pictures when you’re so inspired, and then spoon feed them to us
as the days go by! It’s just a thought, but we love seeing bits of your unique life
in the high desert through your own eyes, and it would be so nice to continue
to share some of that extraordinary vision! And, at the same time,
know that you are still alive and well out there!

So here it is, today's spoonful of 7MSN. Maybe this new approach will work for me
and this blog will live to see another day. Judy is right – I won't stop taking photographs, and
I've got to put them somewhere. It might as well be here because I've run out of wall space.

  1. I agree with Judy. What a bunch of voyeurs we are, but I hope we're pleasant, appreciative voyeurs. I also like checking your site every morning and knowing you're okay out there, it seems to make my coffee taste better.

    2. Horseguard asked permission to use the photos and, of course, there's a story to go with it: http://www.the7msnranch.com/2011/12/fence-is-star-this-time.html

  13. Judy said it so well. Thank you, Judy! There are a number of blogs I check regularly which are just a daily photo such as The Daily Coyote. A single picture is a welcome place to rest our eyes. Thank you, Carson for considering Judy's note.

  18. And it's a gorgeous spoonful! You remind me, once again, how important light is in a really good photograph. Taken at midday, it would be a nice picture of a cat and its reflection. Taken at sunrise, with both the eastern and western skies, it's so much more! As always, well done ... and thank you from the bottom of my heart for trying this new path!!!

    I agree with Judy 100%!!
No pressure, just a photo means more than you can imagine for folks like me who spend most of their days looking at the inside of a building. =)
