A little early morning commotion

  1. Aha, they love to visit here too. We see them in our woods and hear them early morning/evenings in the mountains around us.

  3. And what a nicely groomed commotion...ours are all ratty looking. Smooch is probably planning a breakout via a dirt tunnel to get him...remember the squirrel?

  4. Everybody is on guard! What a security system you have at your place.

  6. My critters don't even pay any attention to the coyotes anymore. There's a "gang" of 5 that sit in my yard and just stare at the house waiting for my dog to come out. He can never go out alone.

  7. Funny that you posted that today. We just got back to Colorado and this morning watched a coyote "playing" with our neighbor's lab. Each on their side of the fence, but springing and twirling, and hunkering down. It was very interesting to watch.

    1. Playing...nope they are trying to get the lab to come outside of the fence, then they will attack and kill it. Coyotes aren't nice, they are "cute". They are vicious pack animals that will kill whatever they can.

  8. I love it! When our dogs bark, the donkeys are right behind them with ears up! Who wants to mess with that? :)

I finally got to see a live, wild coyote!!
I was on a 4-5 hour trail ride (on horseback) last week and near the end of our ride, this little one, maybe about a year old or so was about a quarter mile up the trail from us. He kept stopping, looking back and waiting for us, then continued walking. He left us when we were nearly back at the parking lot. It was almost like he was saying, "You know the way from here, right?" ha ha!
