The girls and their greens

Lady Mary: This stuff is way past its sell-by date.

Minnie: Have you seen the price of eggs these days?
Do you realize how much money we're saving you?

Minnie: The least she could do is give us fresh stuff.

Edith: You'd make a more convincing argument
if you didn't gobble it up so fast.

Me: And maybe it would taste better if you didn't walk all over it!

Nothing would taste good having been stepped on by these things.

 Peach: You'd be surprised.

Judging by the number of rodent tails strewn across the yard,
the girls are getting plenty of meat to go with their salads.

    1. A very large one! Probably a desert rat of some variety.

  3. Johnny and the girls make quite the symbiotic team. :)
In the meantime, they shouldn't fuss about the greens since they look better than the natural flora growing in their yard!

I count 5 hens in one of the photos ... a nice little group!

  4. Haha! I never though about them not eating the tails. You should make something with them.

    1. If you come up with what the "something" is, I'll start collecting them to make and send it to you.

  5. The girls just keep on trucking. Great pictures. Rodents are high risk creatures around there for sure.

  6. I don't understand the big, recent attraction to eggs from chickens fed only vegetarian feed. Bugs and other small animals are part of a chickens natural diet. Feeding chickens only vegetarian feed is not feeding chickens their natural diet. I think people who think they are doing a good thing eating vegetarian fed chicken eggs are hurting themselves.

  7. Not exactly like the dyed rabbits' feet we used to have as key chains in the 70's. Now that I have known some rabbits, it grosses me out to even think about it. That is what I like about feather art. The birds were going to molt anyway. Not as much with the rat tail...

    Paint brush, maybe?

  9. So, they're eating steak and a salad! Sounds yummy! Do they catch the rodents that Johnny Cat doesn't get?
