The end of Smooch's exhausting day

It's not often that I'm gone all day, but Smooch is always exhausted by the time I arrive home.

She stays in the house whenever I'm away.
Maybe I should get a nanny cam to find out what keeps her so busy.

Smooch: Uh-oh. She's going to find out about the parties.

Smooch: Serves her right for leaving me.

  1. Knowing that guard dog of yours, she's probably just tense for eight hours straight like a parent waiting for a teenager to drive home after curfew.

  2. she probably watches out the window and doesn't sleep at all. and maybe howls or cries. our dog Max used to cry when we were gone, per our neighbors..

  3. Ohhhhh. that poor darling. She must be on alert the entire time you're away. It can wear a pup out being in charge. Hope ya'll have a restful weekend.

  4. Looks like she wanted to go with you too, but you didn't listen so now it's the dog face.

    1. I'm with you. It looks like she is a little PO and giving her the silent treatment.

  6. Our dog is tired like that too when we are gone. I thought about getting a dropcam but I am afraid if I see that she is unhappy ...how will I leave her again? Lisa G in TN

  7. Between testing her radar to pick up on your impending return, and standing watch over the ranch, Smooch just gets worn out. Some naps help. Sweet, sweet girl.

  8. I'd check for nose prints on every window and door, because I bet she's looked out of every one of them at least 10 times, protecting the homestead while you were away! :)

  9. Hey, that's a big job being left in charge of the ranch wilst your away. I love the "look" Ms. Smooch is givin' you. "Oh Mommy, you left me". Dogs are great at that game. Have a super weekend, together.

Aww, poor Smoochie! She had to keep up ranch security all by herself while you were away! That's very tiring.
    Sweet dreams, Smoochie-poo... =)
