Same hole, different day

Smooch started digging this hole in May 2011. I made a video of her efforts back then.
Had I kept the camera running every time she's dug in the same place,
we'd have a full-length feature film.

We're all confounded by her behavior, but it keeps us entertained
while waiting around for suppertime.

I fill in the hole every few weeks and Smooch digs it back out.
I wonder how deep it would be if I didn't keep filling it in?

 George: Let's find out.
Alan: We could meet our neighbors in China.

Lucy: Bon voyage. Be sure to send us a postcard.

  1. The last picture is unbelievable! Smooch is a worker. I think she wants you to fill in the hole -- starting on big projects is the fun part, without having actually to create the whole thing, when you can just imagine how cool a 2nd Grand Canyon would look right outside your window. Those donkey faces are too adorable!

  5. You must have timbers buried beneath the line of the fence. Or else Her Highness would have dug under the fence and out into Burroland!

  7. I hope she finds her treasure. I'm sure there is something she smells/senses/etc. in that spot, that keeps her preoccupied with it. I utilize quite a bit of gray matter fantasizing about what treasures lie beneath dirt and water, that have yet to be excavated...I just know she is on to SOMETHING! :)

  8. One of these days she's going to dig down to that buried treasure and you're going to have to endure her "I told you there was something down there!!" for the rest of your life. :) Not to mention get her her own bank account!

  9. You know, in Spring you could hire Smooch out to some vegetable gardeners who would like their beds double-dug. She would be very popular at the local Community Garden.

  10. Heck, I'd be grabbing a shovel too at this point just to figure out what she's looking for!
