The nose knows

Me: Smooch, don't be mad. Look at me.

Smooch: Traitor.

Smooch: I know you let that damned cat in the house.
I work my tail off protecting this place, and what do I get?
Cat smells!

Me: You'll always be top dog.

Smooch: Promise?

Me: Promise.

  3. What a sweet reproachful look.I think he will forgive you...eventually.

  4. She DOES have that accusing look. How does she do that!? Smooch sweetheart, it's all going to be OK. No kitty cat can take your place. But if you let him, I bet Johnny CashCat will be your very good friend.

  5. Oh my, that last photo is ''ticked off/hurt feelings'' to a T! Hopefully she'll settle in to the idea before the first snow flies.

  6. A girl always knows...just sayin'. We have a jealous dog in our house, too. I keep telling her, "There's enough love for everyone." but she doesn't always believe me.

  7. Dang....she is ticked off. What expression she has in her eyes. But it's all good. They will adjust eventually. Ours always do. Joe used to tell me that the older St Bernard, Annabelle had that "cold war stare" going on with the addition of every animal we added to our household, but eventually she was "Big Mama" to them all. Good luck with Smooch and JCC. This will be interesting.

  9. Poor Smooch. She's smart and she'll adjust ... she will make you feel guilty about it for a while, though.

  10. As Erma Bombeck said, Guilt is the gift that keeps on giving. Smooch was just looking forward to gazing out at the winter world snuggled up to you and laughing at the cat outside. But, she knows she is better than that. Love the pics.

  11. Johnny might end up Smooch's dear friend. Dogs and cats actually can get along if they feel they are secure with the affection of their owner.

  13. Smooch is going to love Johnny Cash once she remembers what it's like having a kitty to nuzzle and playfully chase around the house. :-)
Great pictures, every one of them!

  15. Animals can sure get there point across. My cat "talks" to me every morning. This morning he was "talking" as usual and I told him I was going away for the weekend. I swear he got this look on his face like " You're what?!" Then he turned around with his back to me and twitched his tail like he was pissed.
