My guardian donkey

This too-stinkin'-adorable-for-words shelf donkey arrived in my mailbox recently. The Donkey Sanctuary in the U.K. sells them in their online gift shop. I don't think there's an animal rescue in the world that does as much good as the Donkey Sanctuary, and I will support them for the rest of my days and beyond. Anyway, I have been trying to find the proper place for my guardian shelf donkey to sit. I want to see him as much as possible because I can't help but smile every time I look at him.

He seems right at home in my favorite chair but it would be just like me
to forget he was there and sit on him. Bad idea.

He looks happy enough atop a pillow in the sunroom, but I'd worry about him falling off.

A real donkey would never put himself in such a precarious position. What was I thinking?

I introduced him to Lucy, who of course was insanely jealous.

The chickens wanted to eat him. No surprise there.

I thought about putting him on a shelf in the refrigerator, but I'd eat too much just because I wanted to see him.
By the way, have you tried Chobani's coffee yogurt with dark chocolate chips?
If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, this would be it.

I'm guaranteed to spend the majority of each day with my guardian donkey if he sits atop my monitor.
Lord knows I need something to smile about while I'm working, and he's got the herd at his back for company.
As long as he doesn't poop all over my desk, I think this is the best place for him.

  1. Your guardian donkey is the cutest thing I've seen in a long time! Whoever thought of that idea is a genius!

I love all Chobani yogurt but have never tried the bites. Gott give the coffee one a try as I do love my coffee or anything coffee related.

  2. Guard donkeys: There is a very strange case about 2 donkeys killing a man in Budapest. I want to know details - they only say they were defending their territory. I've never heard of such a thing. Dogs, yes, people, no. http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/gesellschaft/ungarn-zwei-esel-beissen-mann-tot-a-899947.html

I would love it if my donkey defended our land, but not to the point where she's dangerous. Unfortunately she's a typical people-loving donkey.

  7. Love your guardian donkey! There is the TMR (Todd Mission Ranch) Rescue near us over here in Houston doing magnificent work rescue and rehabilitating donkeys. Hope to get out there one day to visit and maybe they'll have something similar to your guardian donkey. Stopping at the store on the way to work and going to try a coffee yogurt...thank you for the idea.

Love how you gave guardian donkey a tour of the ranch. I think you've chosen the exact right place to fully enjoy his/her silly adorable qualities.
