The winter of our discontent

More snow has fallen on the 7MSN in the past few days than it has all winter.

We're trying not to complain, as every flake of snow might mean one blade of grass come April,

but we are so ready for winter to be over.

My fondest wish is to walk outside tomorrow morning to do chores without a heavy coat.

I long for the days of shorts and flip flops. Fly masks, not so much.

Winter is boring.

It's enough to make a person want to book a vacation at the beach just to have something to look forward to.

Hank: You can't be serious.

Oh, but I am. Lucy and Ethel are going to Cozumel in 128 days. Par-ty!

  1. Are you holding a raffle to see who gets to come and tend the ranch or are the Ethelettes coming again?

  6. Cozumel sounds like a good idea but in summer? I'd like to go right now. Enough of this long winter. I can feel the spring breaking in this bleak northern climate here on
Georgian Bay. Yea! The winter's claw is finally letting go.
    Best always,

  8. I am so with you! I've been wondering if it was just me or if this really has been the longest winter of my life! Cozumel, huh? I'll come and be your DD! Nah, I'd want some margarita's too...

  10. Gianni and I are so very happy that you and Ethel will be enjoying - yes, enjoying - the heat (but with balmy ocean breezes), azure seas, yoga on the sand, margaritas, fishies, and fun with us in our oceanside condo in Cozumel. Yup ... talk about Par-ty! We'll have lots of blog fodder for your readers!

  13. Okay, I was feeling sympathy for you until I read the last sentence. It seems everyone I know, and some that I don't, are heading south to Mexico. We've been told we're getting more snow this year than they've seen in over 5 years. Just our luck.

It does look pretty though, that clean dusting of white stuff, you have to admit.

  14. I live in a section on the east coast that has been primarily blessed with rain. I would like some snow. Every storm has been rain. Of course since every storm has lasted two or three days, I should be happy, I guess. But what is winter without at least some snow?

  15. I would gladly trade you some of our back-and-forth temps and weather for a little snow!

As always, your posts delight! Loved the video of Wynonna's trip to the vet (hope all continues to be well) and the pics from 2012.

I think you must be a true 'animal whisperer'!

  17. Sounds like a great summer getaway and whoever stays at the 7MSN gets a great experience, too. And Ethel gets a trip with no projects?
