Flaps down and ready for landing

I love it when Lucy strikes her "flaps down" pose. I'm not really sure what it means. I never catch George or Alan doing this.
Donkeys typically point their ears toward whatever they're listening to. Perhaps Lucy hears some noisy ants.
I removed her fly mask just prior to snapping these pictures,
so maybe she is simply letting her ears down after being confined all day.

If I look at this picture long enough, I begin to see a longhorn steer. Please don't tell her I said that.

  1. She's so cute. Maybe she doubles as a radar tower... lol :)

  2. When I see pictures of her like this, it makes me want to walk up to her and rub my face against hers.

  3. I think it means she's relaxed and content! I catch Cash's ear like this once in a while when he's napping!

  5. Such a funny picture! Lucy is just too adorable. She's probably just relaxing. My horse Blue does this same thing, I call it his helicopter pose. Sometimes they're so goofy.

  6. I know this is a family friendly show, but maybe she feels like I do when I finally get to take my darned bra off at the end of the day. Aaaahhhh.

  9. Clearly, this photo shows the effects of gravity. At the end of a long day, why fight it??

  10. I was thinking maybe they catch a breeze in the perfect way for cooling off...but maybe it's cause she knows just how dang cute it makes her look.

What CeeCee said about the bra. That must be it. Lack of support. Ha!

  12. I like the top knot of mane she's got right smack dab in the middle of her head. It's just begging for a ribbon or something girly.

  13. Woody does this a lot. I read somewhere that it's a sign of relaxed contentment.

But it could just be ear yoga.

  14. I just got the Horsegaurd Fence catalog in the mail with some very familiar faces on the cover. I'd love to see Lucy on the cover of Vogue for real. The world would be a better place if that ever happens:)
