If you can't stand the heat, don't stir the pot

I'll be the first to whine. Is summer over yet?
What do you mean it hasn't started?
It's been 90-something degrees here for too many days in a row, and I can't handle the heat.

At least my animals have the good sense to hide in the shade and remove themselves from heated situations.
Unlike me, who finds herself in the middle of one. Go ahead, read between the lines.
When I have something concrete to share, you'll be the first to know.

So I escape to the barn and surround myself with the reasons why I've become an anti-donkey-roping activist.

Taking the heat is worth it when I see their sweet faces.
By the way, Patrick, the rescued roping donkey from Morning Bray Farm,
makes a personal plea today to stop the event in Van Horn, Texas, on Saturday.
You won't want to miss it.

  5. Stand strong!!! You know you are correct when "heat" gets thrown at you.
When you go against big corporations or big money you can also expect a little ....ahem... manure thrown at ya also....but from manure comes compost, and compost grows beautiful peaceful gardens and pastures from which donkeys and horse can graze.

  6. I hope the roping was stopped this weekend. Thanks for taking the heat. Know you have a lot of support behind, in front and around you.

  7. Isn't it ironic that the huge LongNow project is being built near Van Horn Texas? The dissonance is deafening - a 10,000 year clock and donkey torture in the same place! Please contact LongNow AND its president Stewart Brand to ask for their help in rescuing the Van Horn donkeys. Jeff Bezos of Amazon is also involved. http://longnow.org/

  8. I hope you have organized a demonstration at the donkey roping- if they are stupid enough to go ahead with it.

"I am woman, hear me roar". Helen Reddy 1972. Heat becomes you and there are a lot of people willing to fan you if you get too hot.
Hey, good looking George; and love the picture of Lucy between eight legs.
