Swallowed up in smoke

The fire burning in southern New Mexico is very, very far away, so no need to be worried about us
here at the 7MSN. We're just dealing with the wind and the smoke.

Swallow: I wonder how long I can perch here until the wind blows me off?

Swallow: Probably not very long at this rate.

Swallow: Whoa...that was a close one.

Swallow: Almost got me that time.

Swallow: I might have a career as a weather vane afterall.

  2. What a great series and I can "feel" the wind in your pictures. I really thought he was a goner after #3 but see on #4 he hung on tight. Yep, I think he could have a career as a weather vane too.

  3. So glad you and your critters are safe and sound. The smoke makes for a beautiful sunset. Mr. Swallow looks stunning in that backdrop.

  8. Wow... the wind is really whipping. Such an agile bird. Nice silhouettes. Again, the pretty yucca.

  9. A year or so ago I watched a wildfire burn from a seat in an airplane...I think we were flying over California. The pilot made an announcement before we reached the smoke that he didn't want us to be worried it was us once we began to smell smoke. It was surreal flying over (really around) it. I hope you stay safe.

We have it now...the wind is off the scale here and tomorrow is going to be worse so they say. Put that with trying to get our hay down...if anybody east of us has a large amount of grass hay go by their place it's ours and we would like it back. :) Love the colors and the Swallow with heart. Hugs
