Tuesday morning at the movies ~ Singing for their supper

  1. Guess there is no sleeping in (ever!) with the racket going on in the mornings at your place! :)

    The coyotes surprised me, though!

  2. You must really feel surrounded by those coyotes! I loved this video, and so did my dogs.

  3. My neighbor has a PBP. He's hilarious when it comes to his opinions on eating and being let in/out of his yard.

I know we must live in concert with nature. We both moved to their habitat, but goshdarnit, I HATE the coyotes.

My goodness..I thought we had coyotes, but I do believe you have us beat. I do enjoy hearing them party, but NOT RIGHT around the house. Even though I know the longears can take care of themselves. My john mule has been known to dispose of one or two that have come tooooo close.

  6. I love living in the country! We hear the coyotes howling at our house all the time. I love the "silence" that comes with nature!

  7. Sweet mother of gawd! I can post again from work! IT fixed it..Sweet!

Anyway......great sounds except the coyotes. It sounded like their "celebration" yips. I know they have to eat too, but stay away from my place please.

  8. Wow... that was wonderful. Beautiful sky, lovely early morning scenery. Love the coyotes singing. Such an other worldly sound against the domesticity of the chicken clucks.

I have never heard a PBP sing before. I thought my daughter's pigs were noisy but I think Wynonna has them all beat. Rosebud and my Torie look like they are related. I love the coyotes singing in the background.

How is that chicken coop coming?

  10. I had no idea coyotes were so noisy. We don't have that many in Seattle (just a few have been found in large parks/forests. Wynona is quite the verbal PBP!

  11. On of my favourite things when I fostered a family of 12 potbellies was listening to them sing in the early morning - their range of vocalizations is amazing! Often the coyotes provided harmony, along with the barking of the dogs, the chattering of the alpaca, and the singing of the birds and frogs. There is nothing better than early morning music courtesy of nature!

  12. Oh how I miss the sounds of the "Country"! Laying in bed in the wee hours of morning and hearing the coyotes call to each other, the pounding of feet to get the dogs inside before they'd jump their fence to chase after the coyotes. A few cuss words, yeah...country living is awesome!! And I truly miss it; so I visit your place with enthusiasm.

  13. My sister's Australian Shepherd woke her up this summer having a conversation with the coyotes in the middle of the night. Sheila sleeps in the house in a crate, strangest sound my sister has ever heard. They are not exactly in the country, but do have three acres and some woods and fields around.

No topping Wy's attitude. Porcine Princess indeed.

  14. Love the hens at the end of the movie... We have a few coyotes in our area too, but not quite that vocal.

  15. Love Wynonna, lol! She's the best :)

  16. I liked Smooch looking in the window like a peeping tom.

  17. How wonderful to hear some of the vocalizations that go along with the pictures -- it brings your little corner of the world to life for those of us far away! But not a note or word from any of the equines? Too busy eating to join the chorus? Please work on a follow-up post with the rest of your musical group!
