Lucy and the boys celebrate our independence

George: Mom's been decorating the barn again. Must be a holiday.

Lucy: You know this has trouble written all over it.

George: I don't mind. I'm proud to be an American.

Alan: Hooray for the red, white and blue...and green? Mom, I need a new halter.

Hank: Let's have a parade!

Lucy: I'll be Grand Marshal.

Lucy: Ok, boys, line up! Smallest to tallest. Hank, you're last. Alan, get over here!
Alan: Geez, she can be bossy sometimes.

Lucy: Hold on...let's watch the marching bands go by first.
Ok, get on up here, Alan.

Me: Good job! Just a few more blocks, then watermelon for everybody.

The one spectator lining the parade route was disappointed that no one was throwing out candy.

Lucy: You've had your fun, now where's my watermelon?
Me: I'll go get it right now. You just stand here and keep the folks at home entertained 'til I come back.
And please don't embarrass me by drooling. It's not your best look.

Rumor has it that the boys over at Morning Bray Farm are having their own little Fourth of July celebration.

  11. Your critters certainly know how to celebrate the fourth. They are so patriotic.

By total coincidence I have my first, and probably only donkey post ever. http://www.yogis-den.com/2011/07/open-range-shakespeare.html

  19. Oh my gosh, this is so fun and festive. I saw the MBR Boyz all fixed up for the 4th and I have a feeling....uh Auntie Linda musta had something to do with that as well or maybe it was Ms. J that influenced the other way...you two are giving in to peer donkey pressure......too funny. I love it. Happy 4th to all at 7MSN. From the crew at Casa de Cuckoo.

  22. Happy 4th Carson. I liked the parade. BTW do you still have that donkey cart at your place. Perhaps Lucy would pull that in your next in town parade. That would be so cute. Maybe she could even teach the guys a thing or two.
    Best always, Sandra
