The Top 10 from 2010 at the 7MSN

Everyone loves Top 10 lists. They're just so definitive and concise – everything you need to know about a particular topic right there in 10 numbered items.  There's even a website that collects them – go here if you want to find out the Top 10 Dangerous Toothpaste Ingredients, or the Top 10 Most Useless Body Parts or, one of my personal favorites, the Top 10 Worst Shoes to Wear and Step in Dog Poop.

Here is my Top 10 list: the Top 10 posts from 2010 at the 7MSN, as decided by me. I was going to list the 10 posts with the highest number of comments, figuring that would be a good gauge of popularity. But a bunch of those would have made us all cry again and who wants to go there on New Year's Eve? Instead, I selected 10 posts that sum up what this blog is all about – stories and adventures with the herd, with a little photography in between. Here they are, in chronological order:

Beam Us to the Beach
This is the only video on the list. You'll see some familiar faces who are no longer with us. Smile and remember the good times we all shared as they go by.

Alan Thinks It's Pretty Funny, Too
Alan bears a striking resemblance to a very famous person. Do you remember who?

Now Who's Out of Cone-trol?
Proof positive that there is nothing I wouldn't do for my boys.

This Seat is Taken
Alan learns a valuable lesson...the hard, yet very entertaining, way.

By the Light of the Monsoon
Hank rolls in the mud, kicks up his heels and still manages to look stunning.

Rattlesnake Wranglin'
The quintessential 7MSN ranch adventure, with one of my favorite illustrations ever.

Faster Than a Speeding Bullet
Smooch breaks the sound barrier. This post includes one of my all-time favorite pictures of Smooch...and she's not even in it!

Can Chickens Faint?
Another ranch adventure, this one involving the weather, the Porcine Princess, and a very wet hen.

In a Soft Light
Photography...it's all about the light.

Peach vs. The Tarantula
2010 was the year the chickens came to the 7MSN, and we all learned about their interesting eating habits.

  5. Somehow, I had managed to miss the "Who's Out of Cone-trol" post.
I'd have had to make room in my freezer for the cone. :)

  19. A Happy New Year to everyone at the 7MSN!
My blog is not popular enough to put it on the list but I will take the chance to tell you my favourite post and the story, how I found your ranch.
It was at work as we googled for informations to a physical project at KEK in Japan, called BELL. And what did we found? An amazing post labeled "Whom The Bells Tolls". I was flashed!!
Every day on schedule for my lunchbreak the new post waits for me to deflect from physics frenzy.
    THANK YOU!
    Pia

  20. Carol, I am happy to report that the solar water trough is keeping the boys' water flowing. The sun barely came out for two days, the temps dropped to 10 and 5 those two nights, and not a speck of ice. *happy dance*
