It was so windy on Sunday...

How windy was it?

It was so windy that all seven outdoor family members took shelter on the leeward side of the barn
and I got them in the same picture.

It was so windy that George and Alan had to entertain themselves with whatever toys they could find.

It was so windy that I gave in to their demands, served supper a little early,
and ran back in the house to fire up the woodstove, clean the camera, apply more chapstick,
and drink wine...and not necessarily in that order.

  1. I love the picture of all 7 family members, and it looks like the boys will be boys, no matter what.

Winds are coming my way today ... hold onto my hat!

    When do they NOT
    ...entertain themselves?
    ....find toys? :-P

  3. The first photo of handsome Hank looks like the background is a mural or something.

And of course the burro brothers would find something fun to do. They each are a party in a burro costume!

  6. You even got all of the girls in the shot! That's pretty incredible! Love that pic of Hank - he is so handsome. And you know I love George & Alan - totally!

  7. I love George and Alan too. They're so funny!! Love watching them play. My jack has a jollyball that he's constantly teasing the big horses with.
Mercy loves them too, I had to tell her which is which. She thinks they're silly.

  9. I knew there was a reason your blog is the first I check every morning. Love the photos, and the handy tips.
(i.e., the chapstick, wine, and woodstove)
    My kinda girl!

  10. Woodstove would be first here! (Closely followed by wine...) Bored burros make good photo ops.

  11. Chapstick first, always first and then the wine. Gives your lips a provocative "come hither" look. ;-)

  12. I love your family photo! And sitting by the woodstove with a glass of wine sounds like a lovely way to spend the evening!

  13. Well it's nice that they can get out of the wind. I always feel bad when I see animals that can't get any relief.

  14. My least favourite weather system is wind. I used to suffer severe earaches as a child from the wind and have never really warmed up to it. My second least favourite weather system is...well...there's currently a battle going on for 2nd place between snow & rain. I'll let you know how that goes.

  16. It's just nearly impossible to get everyone together for a family photo isn't it? Glad you caught this one!

  17. Fess up now ... How many shots did you shoot to get one of all the "kids" where nobody's head was hidden by somebody else's butt ?

The "outdoor family" portrait is very nicely composed too with the guys & gals on the edges facing outward and the one in the centre looking at the camera. Well done !

  18. If you come across a reciept for gas from Shell station in Canyon Lake, let me know. Last I looked it was heading for the middle of nowhere so maybe...

Glad they've got the sense to get in out of the wind!

  19. How fun that they're all in the same photo! I think Alan is telling you that he needs a new traffic cone. :)

  22. Hey...where'd you go? :-)
When a person posts every single day, their readers get worried if they suddenly stop...
    Everything ok?
