Deets, on a roll

Post-processing:1. PW's Dim the Lights action at 28% – used layer mask to remove effect from Deets' body; 2. PW's Boost action at 63%; 3. PW's Quick Edge Burn at 20%

Since we're rolling around anyway, I'm implementing a new blog feature today. Whenever you see this hand/mouse icon on a photo, you can roll your mouse between the image and the margin to alternate between the straight-out-of-the-camera and Photoshopped versions. I'll include a brief recipe of my post-processing steps for whomever might be interested. Instead of doing a weekly "Touch-it-up Tuesday" post, those who want a little dose of Photoshop can get it every day. Ok? Ok.

  1. Deets is learning 'the roll' from his pasture companions, or did they learn from him? Mmmm .....

Love the roll over mouse thingie ... very interesting to see the before/after.

  5. Interesting. I have Corel but haven't taken the time to really learn it. I've been experimenting with Picnick and having a lot of fun but I can see how really learning the features in a more subtle manner can really add interest to the photographs.

  6. I love the mousey thingy. Its totally geeky!

Deets is so cool that dirt doesn't really stick to him, does it?

(lol on Smooch's twitter on the coyotes, btw. have you seen the site on coyote protection? My dad (also in NM) is being over run with pack rats and mice because someone near by has been trapping all the coyotes.... http://www.projectcoyote.org/)

  7. Thank you doing these steps. I think I learn by example the best. So I understand the steps when I see the before and after. Now if I could just find someone to hold my camera and say, "see turn this button here because of...."
Thank you also Deets for another nice pose.

  10. You're really putting the challenges out there, you know that? I'm starting to feel that I need to "embrace" my camera and learn it's settings....instead of just the point & shoot that I usually do... My Tinkerbell is Deets in female form - and get this, she's solid white w/electric blue eyes... we should hook 'em up!

  14. Lots of rolling going on there, aren't there? That third pic made me laugh out loud - flat on his back, really flat ... just look at his back feet! And loving the before/after effect, you are so crafty! (is that an english word, by the way?)

  15. You are flip floppin' awesome!
I've read the tutorial but don't know if I want to dedicate the time to try it.
Maybe you can work up a tutorial for the mouseover. I like your approach of teaching.

    Thanks!

Does Deets know you're sharing his more goofy side with the rest of the world? And will he forgive you if he finds out? :)
