I can't believe how big the girls have gotten, and it sure looks like they've found a good roosting place in your bench.
Those chickens look like beanbags, the way they plop down on something and overflow on both sides of it! The look like they are ready for the contest!

August 6th - my first day of holidays!
The question might be more "where" you will find the eggs than "when"..... those girls are hanging their butts over every possible container, ledge and perch... check that flower pot!

Okay, August 3rd at 7a.m. (no idea, really, but I sure did like those boots!).
You've got some nice looking girls there. They sure look like they're ready to get down to egg laying business! Is that their favorite chair? LOL

my guess for the first egg is Aug 4th 6:15 am. and i thinking Deets will be done with his rambling by Sunday. we have 4 cats at the barn and they will leave for a day or five and always come home safe and sound. for a second guess chance i'm thinking i would have to get something with a horse theme to it.
we have a few hens about the same age as yours and no eggs yet for us either.
The girls are gorgeous chicks. Do they still get weekly polish? I have no need of the prize for guessing, but will enjoy watching the contest.
Like everyone else, keeping Deets in mind. Hope he comes home sassy and strutting.
Beautiful birds. Your eggs will always be fresh. We have a new bylaw whereby you can now keep chickens in the back yard but no roosters (I wonder why?) ha ha!

Oh....I see, they've been airbrushed. Figures. All the top models have that done before appearing in print.

i have a question for you about the chics. we have 3 hens and one rooster. don't you need a rooster for your hens to lay eggs? i know those of you that know this already are thinking dah...but that will not stop me from asking

I've already left a comment on your Tuesday post, but will say again 8/7/10 at 7:00 A.M.! And...the egg will probably be under the cushion of a chair instead of the nesting box :) I love to watch chickens and have a few good pics of them....
I am going to say August 9th because that is the day that the new barn gets started! Time.... hummmm..... how about 8:30 a.m.??
Nice little garden ornaments there, they are growing so fast. Sure looks like they are ready any minute now ...
