Again with the snow

As if losing an hour's sleep and doing morning chores in the dark weren't enough to complain about, another snow storm moved through Sunday night.

We've all resigned ourselves to the fact that winter may never end and no matter how many times we enter HGTV's dream home giveaway, we're never going to win.

  1. It's the same thing here ... Old Man Winter just isn't going to give in and take a hike! UGH!

Yep, it's a bummer when HGTV fails to call or come and hand me the keys. Next year ... next year.

  2. The lady at the grocery store tried to tell me the farmer's almanac called for more snow and I laughed at her........and I was sure I was going to win that house too! What a disappointment:(The guys look disbelieving....

  3. Sure makes it perty though.

Hate to say it, but up here in the northwoods we've been getting 60 degrees days, lots of sun, and the mud is finally drying up. But with it being March, we're sure to get another big snowstorm or two.

  4. Oh no! You wouldn't want one of those McMansions anyway.

    Sunshine is on the way.

  5. We are in the 80's this week with people marching around town in tennis outfits. Your Spring is at hand.

  6. That does stink. We've had a bad noreaster with 70 mph winds. Lots a trees down etc... This weather has got to stop eventually, right?

  7. Hank's "spots" make for a really interesting contrast against the snow. Such a pretty boy.

  8. Following 60 degree weather makes it seem so surreal, doesn't it? Although most of my snow is already gone on the same day. Crazy weather! I guess the weathermen must feel great- every time they think it's going to snow, it does.

  10. Hi Carson: I'm back from a six week holiday to Texas and CA. I froze in both states. A foot of snow in north Texas and 35F in Laguna, CA. Can you believe it? I missed the Florida weather here in northern Ontario. It was warm for the month of Feb.
Great to see your blog once again.
    Best always, Sandra

  11. I did not want to win it anyway; the thought of paying the taxes on it would make a normal person gag...too much house for "normal" people....Sun is shining here; after an inch and a half of rain. Sick of mud, cold, snow, freezing, but...not too ready for the heat, humidity and sweating called summer, either.

  12. Gosh, the boys sure look down-trodden in that last picture.

I'm wishing warm breezes and green grass for all of you.

  13. Even the burros look sad.

  14. Sandra, thanks for mentioning about being away - your absence was definitely noticed, and we missed you.

Phaedra96, I really did want to win the dreamhouse just to live in it for one weekend, have a slumber party for all my blogger friends, then sell it. Alas, maybe next year.

  15. Hang in there. This was probably the last push of winter. Spring is peeking around the corner. And before you know it, the hot days of summer will be at the doorstep and you'll be remembering the cold days of now.

  16. I sympathize with the boys and the snow. Today we have 60 degree weather here in Colorado, and Friday more snow is predicted. I would move somewhere warmer but I hate the summer heat. I can't win and definitely not the Dream Home. $500,000 cash wouldn't be bad, and sell the monster home as it isn't my style or furnishing.

  17. HGTV didn't call me either or I would've shared. Oh well, that house was beat with a Southwest stick just a little too hard for my tastes. Nothing a trip to WalMart couldn't cure.
No snow here, just cold rain. I know you're not supposed to complain about moisture, but really? On the first day of Spring Break?!
    Beautiful photos.

  18. What the...?!? That stuff better be gone by the time August rolls around, is all I'm sayin....

Rumour has it that we'll be getting clear skies and warmer. weather by the end of this week. I'll wait and see

  19. How disappointing although it makes for beautiful photographs. It was in the 60s here yesterday :) but not going to last. We have not had any snow this whole winter. Some very cold temperatures but all in December.

  20. Aw, you poor guys... sending you warm (but rainy wet) thoughts from Oregon!

  21. Very odd winter. We usually have lots of snow on the ground this time of year (Michigan's UP)and the snow is almost gone. And it hasn't snowed in over a month. Sorry God sent it your way but I thank Him for the break here.

  22. Sandra, you should've waited and come to Laguna this week. It was 84 yesterday and it's going to be hot again today. Wild temp swing, huh?

I may even get to bathe the horse today. (he reallllly needs it!)

Love the snow pictures. I'm sure it sucks but it's lovely to look at.

  23. I know it's easy for me to say, but spring will get there! The weeping willow in front of our house is turning green now, which means that spring has to be just around the corner for you.

  24. Hang in there!! We had 2 inches last Saturday...must have hit here before it hit you ;~) Today it's going to be 60 and my arena is dry enough to ride in...go figure...

  25. Sunny and warm (14C) in my part of Canada! Yipee!! Sorry....didn't mean to rub it in. :-)

  26. That is incredible! I cannot believe you've had another snow....It's time for WINTER to be over! It is 84 degrees here....I don't mean to be "mean", but the contrast is just almost too much, isn't it?

    As always...your pictures are wonderful....!

  27. Darn snow. It was so heavy and wet up here that it toppled several trees and is causing water damage to our roof.
And then I fell in it, because of how warm it was when it snowed, there was a layer of mud underneath and I lost my footing. bleh! I'm done with winter, too!

I kept hoping I'd win that Dream Home, too. I would have sold it and used the money to buy Cedar Hill Equestrian Farm so I could donate it to Walkin in Circles Horse Rescue. Bummer.

  28. Holy crap...I didn't win the house in Santa Fe either. But then I don't another loan for $46K to pay off the taxes on that baby. Guess I'll just have to be happy with the house in Corona...it's purdier anyway.

Snow? Just more water for plants in a fluffy form. Soon ... soon, spring will come.
