  1. Fantastic pictures Carson, but why are the guys digging up dirt? Do they want to lay down on warmer ground?

  2. Is there some mineral they are after or do they just have weird tastes? Eat dirt! No, you eat dirt!

Anyway you go about it though, they sure are cute.

  3. Being burro-less, I have no idea what they're doing... except that it makes for cute pictures! Have a good day.

  4. Do you think they're digging for minerals like wild burros do?
    Those noses look sooooo soft.

  6. Minerals!

Ours are doing that too, right now, not to mention chewing on some tree bark. It's that time of year.

  7. When I took these pictures yesterday, every once in a while, they'd find a root and eat it. Makes you think I didn't feed them four times a day, but I do, honest!

  8. Maybe they're miners? Carson, you might be able to expand the ranch if they hit pay dirt.

    Clearly they are halfway there!

  9. We have a dog that does the same thing. She digs up dirt and then sticks her nose in it.

  12. This must be a donkey thing. Yesterday the horse were grazing along, looking for little nubs they had missed the last couple weeks. Pistol Pete was pawing...pawing. No snow to get through, mushy pastures. But that is exactly what he was doing. Pawing to find tender roots. Now I don't mind that but, dummy, if you eat the roots the plant does NOT come back in the spring.

  15. I don't care if they are eating dirt, I still want to plant a big ole kiss on those muzzles!

  16. My horses do that looking for alfalfa roots in the winter; there must be some nutrients they need. Such cute noses!

  17. Now you would never catch a black cat with a dirty face like that...no no no it just wouldn't happen.
You made my day once again, Carson.
    Best always, Sandra
