Valedictorian Alan

Alan was the first only student to show up for Elf Training 101 this morning. First I attached the jolly red hat to his halter to let him get used to the pom-pom bouncing near his head. Alan passed that test in less than a minute and told me he was ready for Advanced Placement Elf Training.

Go to the head of the class, Alan!

Mom, that bully over in the corner is making fun of me.

Don't you worry, hon. It's tough being a smart ass. But when you go off to college, just remember – he'll be stuck in some dead-end job working cows or something.

Yeah! Take that, Skippa Little Loser!

Are you aware of how ridiculous you look?

Yes, and I don't care. My ear is warm and my mom is smiling.
And I'm not even wearing my halter now, so there!

If you're keeping score, that's three down and eight to go, with 18 training days left 'til Christmas.

This is so much more fun than shopping.

Ok, Alan might have just stolen my heart a tiny bit! What a cheeky boy! And he looks so devilishly handsome with that hat on sideways. Your folks sure had the right idea for this Christmas fun!

Oh I ca't wait to see what Deets does! Alan is a very fine elf in training. But I think you need 2 hats- one for each ear!

What a great "laughing" photo! I'm sure you can sell it to a card company. Thanks for the laugh. I can return to my work now feeling a little cheerier.

That's a good idea. Keep telling those critters that the hats are ear-warmers and like the book The Mitten by Jan Brett, all your critters will be begging to wear 'em!

Like others said the laughing burro pic could be a holiday greeting card. It would sell like hot cakes!

Ha! I knew it would be Alan. He's the most sensible when it comes to pleasing mom---or at least he seems that way on your blog.

Linda, I love all those pictures of Alan especially when he snickered at you with his smiling eyes. Saw other pictures like the ground blizzard and they looked so incredible and at same time so beautiful!
