The pin-up boys of 2010

If you were hanging around here last fall, you might remember the first ever George and Alan wall calendar. I made it available through Café Press, and all proceeds from the sales went to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue. It was a fun little fund-raiser, and the buyers and recipients seemed to enjoy a daily dose of the fabulous burrito brothers on their wall.

Media whores that they are, it didn't take much arm-twisting to get George and Alan to agree to be pin-up boys for 2010, so there will be a second annual George and Alan wall calendar. I'll be selling it directly via ebay or etsy or some such online outlet so that I can offer it at what it costs to print and ship, probably around $12. This calendar is not about making money, it's about showing the world just how much fun life can be when you share it with an adopted BLM burro...or two.

The calendar is almost ready to send to print, but I have a big decision to make – which photo should go on the cover? Since you all are George and Alan's biggest fans, I'm hoping you'll help me decide. Here are the 12 photos that will appear in the calendar. Tell me which one is your favorite in the comments by Thursday at 7:00 pm mountain time. One lucky commenter will be chosen by the wise and powerful Random Integer Generator to receive the very first hot-off-the-press 2010 calendar.

Now go forth and vote for your favorite...please? I like them all and just can't make up my mind.

  4. It's a hard decision, but #4 would be my choice. A nice close-up of the boys!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I like #4 for the cover. It shoes their personalities the most!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I LOVE them all too but my absolute favorite is # 9 which I like to call "An ass at both ends"!

  7. #9 definately!
Your blog is one of the first that I read everyday, and I love all the beautiful animal and scenery photos you share with us.

  9. Oh my....they are so adorable!! Number 10....

  10. #9 for the cover...although the are ALL perfect! I have to have one of these! LOVE your pictures of the boys.

  11. They are all great pictures, but I think #11 should be the cover. I have a donkey named Henry who is also very comical.

  12. I like #9 for the cover, where they are facing different directions.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I love No. 9...the yin-yang sorta effect.....all of them are great.

    ReplyDelete
  14. #10, I vote #10!!! I missed last years calender, but i will for sure be ordering a couple of those 2010 calendars for donkey lovers in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  15. All shots would be great on the cover, but I like number 9.

For some reason it captures the essence of an entire year to come. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. They are all great shots, but -- I think #8 should be the cover. It shows their friendship, senses of humor and is a nice close-up of those cute faces.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh Carson - I'm like you. I like them all too. But, since we have to vote, my vote's for #4. It just shows their personality. These two alone have made me want burro's more than anything else. Have a good day.

  18. I like both #4 and #8. They are very fun photos and get one's attention. They also show the sense of play and humor that they boys have! :)

  19. What a great idea!
Love all them, but my preferred is the Number 9. My justification: we can see very well Alan and George together in an amazing perspective and we can see the gorgeous landscape around them and the fantastic light and color. Great photo!

  20. My vote is for #4 or #10. I love how both photos show how well they interact with each other. #10 is a personal favorite of mine.

    ReplyDelete
  21. #7 is my favorite, it's beautiful and it's calm and peaceful.

    ReplyDelete
  22. They're all great but Number 10 is my favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hi Carson: I like #9 for the cover. #11 is fabulous too. Heck I'll decide on #9. It will make a great calendar and for a wonderful cause too.
These buddies deserve to be famous. I hope you get lots of orders for the calendars.
    Best always, Sandra

  24. 6,7,9,or 10. 7 for sure. I can't decide. They are all so great!

    ReplyDelete
  25. #8 because it shows their personalities and friendship, but also because the picture itself is well done - they are both looking at the camera, the colors are beautiful, and the whole composition is good. For the cover, it's perfect!

  26. #11 is my favorite... it'd make a beautiful cover!

    ReplyDelete
  27. They are all great, but #11 is my favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  28. They're all so burrolicious!

My favorite is #11, but I think #9 would make the best cover. It not only shows George and Alan well, but also their home. And it kinda brings to mind a sort of "Year In, Year Out" idea with them facing opposite directions.

    ReplyDelete
  29. #9 Love it love it love it. Love them all, but #9 sums it up.

  31. They are all great but 6 is the eyecatcher. 6 makes you curious to know what the photo is about. 6will draw in the sales. 6 is the marketing winner.

Did I mention that I vote for 6?

    ReplyDelete
  32. my favorite photo is #10 and then I also like the emotion captured in #6 - seems almost spiritual,
BUT since it's for a cover shot I vote for #9, it's in my top 3 and since it really shows them in all their handsome glory and the beautiful N. Mexico backdrop it would make a great cover shot.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love them all, but my vote would be #4 and #10. They both show how cute they are together!! Thanks for sharing them with us!!

  34. I vote for #6. Am I the only one who likes those sweet nuzzly lips?????

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ok..for me it's #4!! That clowning around and play is all about their character..Perfect!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Difficult to decide.

My favorite is really #10, but if you don't know the story behind it, it could look like two injured donkeys.

#9 is beautiful, but 8 really captures their daily antics with one another. So, #8 it is.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think #9 nicely sums up what you'll find in more detail inside the calendar.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This was easy until I saw all the pictures. Then it came down to 9, 10, and 2. Now, I can't decide---guess I'll go with 9---but, wait-----

  39. #9 is the best for the cover.

    great photos, all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I LOVE these guys! I agree with previous posters - it's a dang hard decision because I love them all!

I choose #4. Even though some other photos are aesthetically more pleasing, this one shows their penchant for fun (not to mention their ability to ham it up for the camera), and that's why we love them!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I messed up my previous comment so I deleted it and started over. I like both 9 & 10 a lot. Hard to decide. If you're looking for more color 9 is good, but for cuteness #10 is absolutely the best. I love your two burro boys, I am going to have to order a calendar.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'll have to go with Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine...yeah, yeah, yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm going to quick post my vote, and then go back and see what everybody else thinks. I say number 9. Both A & G, and the NM sky. We love all your ranch hands; you could do a whole calendar of Deets for some of us!

    ReplyDelete
  44. #4 would be my choice but they are all wonderful pictures. I can't wait to get a calendar!

    ReplyDelete
  45. All great pics, but the one that I immediately liked as a cover photo was #9!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well I don't ever comment but since Sandy and I own a donkey or he owns us I would have to say #9. It just say's it all.

Number 9 great photo showing they are each part of one another. Bought last yrs calendar and loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Definitely the "Pushmepullyou" photo that graces your masthead.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Number 10 is my favorite.

    Kendra

    ReplyDelete
  50. Has to me #9

I think it summarizes perfectly the rest of the shots, plus its beautifully done. Will be a real incentive to whats inside.

    ReplyDelete
  51. 10 ic my favorite, or 8. Cute

    ReplyDelete
  52. I choose number 4, because it is so cute and it makes me happy and smile everytime I see it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I like #8! I like the lighting and the close up of those cute donkey faces!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hi Linda,

I vote for #2, my personal favourite. For some reason your server doesn't think my e-mail address is valid. Weird.

Take care, oh yeah, and by the way, I love your name. He, he.

  55. Holy crap, George and Alan have a lot of fans! I felt like I was scrolling forever! =) My vote is for #10, but they sure are photogenic boys....any of them is a winner!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I just love number 8. They are such cute boys!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Number 6. Priceless!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I vote for #10! Love reading about the boys, etc. Great blog.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I vote #10. I loved it when it was your blog header.

    ReplyDelete
  60. My pick would be #11 because of that beautiful sky. The clouds, sunset and profiles of the boys really make it an artpiece.

  61. Number 8! They are so silly :-)

    ReplyDelete
  62. 8 - but does this mean it won't be in the calendar...??? If that's the case then 11

    ReplyDelete
  63. #9 pretty much sums it up.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Wow what a tough decision. I think I'll vote for #9. But they're all good so it really doesn't matter does it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I like the pose in #2, but the cover would probably be better in color. #11 has a lot of drama for a cover with the vivid colors. The lighting and full shot of them is really nice in #9 -- I also like seeing the countryside. I love all of them, but #4 shows their playfulness and is probably my favorite for a cover.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The majority seems to be voting for #9, and I certainly see why!
#11 is good too, but there isn't enough "burro" in it for the cover.
I kind of like mellow #4 for the cover, with the idea of keeping all the really exciting stuff inside to be surprised by each month.

    ReplyDelete
  67. #10
I love the look of love on George's face.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have to say, when I saw #6 I let out a little sigh. That has to be my favorite one. But I'll have to agree with so many of the others - they are great!

  69. I liked 11 the best because of the color and it just sort of grabs the spotlight. They're all good, how could they not be with such wonderful hams...er models.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I love #2 but #4 gets my vote. it's classic George and Alan.

    ReplyDelete
  71. My vote is #9, looking in all directions, just like time!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh as many of your other readers know, this is so hard! I'd have to say #7. Its a good head on shot of them both.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Heather in Montreal9/14/09, 7:17 PM

They are all so good it is difficult to choose but numbers 4 or 8 to me are special

    ReplyDelete
  74. Boy 64 comments so far, now didn't this just bring everyone out of the woodwork! LOL Ahhh #9 is the favorite it seems and I do love that picture. So much I would rather look at it for a month then briefly on the cover. My pick for the cover would be #11 it's a stellar photo and would make a class ass cover; but I would like a bit more of A&G to look at for a month. So put # 9 inside!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. they are all wonderful..but 11 is great for a cover.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 10 is my favorite but I vote for #1 as the cover.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have to vote for #9, although it was a really hard decision. I picked #9 for the composition, beautiful NM light and some humor, too. They are all beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I am voting for lucky #7...what a couple of hunks! You see, the cover needs to draw the fans in and I think they are looking pretty sophisticated in that one. Like one of them should have a rose between his teeth.
    BTW...love your blog! It's adorable!

  79. They're all great but I think 4 shows them as their true selves - and would make a great cover. It definitely doesn't mean it's my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  80. #8 definitely gets my vote! Shows their personalities perfectly, and the colors and composition definitely will draw people in.

    Good luck deciding, either way!

    ReplyDelete
  81. No 9, its my all tiem favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I really, really like #5.

    ReplyDelete
  83. My vote is for #4 - really gets across how insane and funnty they are.

    SVG

    ReplyDelete
  84. OMG - how do you pick???? But I'd say #10 is my first choice, then #2. I'm down for a calendar. LOVE those guys!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I just love donkeys! I have enjoyed your pictures of George and Alan. I'm torn between #9 and #10. I have a mini donkey named Charley he is so sweet and funny, I love it when he Hee Haws at me. Having two full size donkeys must be a blast!

    ReplyDelete
  86. They are all spectacular and show all dimensions of the "boys" personality but #9 shows it all, them, full bodies, plus their beautiful surroundings. Whatever you choose will be wonderful, I'm sure. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  87. That's awesome! You know how I love a new calendar!!

My vote would be for #9, followed by #2 or #3. In that order.

#9. That would be my first choice.

    Did I say #9 yet? :o))

    Hugs all 'round,
    Carolynn

  88. I think number 2 is my favorite picture, but for the cover I think #8 is the best. Bright, colorful, and full of personality.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I vote for #4. That one always brings a smile to my face.
