Horse grooming secrets revealed

Whenever I post pictures of my horses, I inevitably get a few comments about how clean they always look. So here's my grooming secret, which sounds just like today's weather forecast: south to southwest winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 or 55 mph. Blows the dirt right off them.

  1. Great to see you back, Linda.
I also like the bigger picture. It really shows off that beautiful spot where you live. I'm looking foward to wonderful pictures this summer.
    Best always, Sandra

  2. Aha!

I love the photos, and the new look here at 7MSN. I confess I forgot you'd said you were taking the site down to re-design, and tried to come for a visit. It said I hadn't been invited to join 7MSN and I had a mild panic! :)

    Whew! Glad you're all back.

  3. HA ... I guess that would do it!

When you had your weather forecast on your previous site I was always amazed at your winds.

  6. Great groomer, I'm always partial to a good hard rain to wash off the dirt for me, as long as they don't go roll in the mud afterwards.

  7. Sure wish the wind worked like that in our favor! We've got mud, mud and wet clay - which sticks like glue and makes them look like statues when it dries. Smells lovely too :)

  8. we'd bathe our horses and they'd just go roll in the dirt and mud!! but you say the New Mexico winds keep yours clean.

  11. Well, mystery solved! Now I know where all that dust in my living room comes from when the wind blows. It's horsey-dirt from 7MSN, just a little bit west of here.

  13. Geeesh.......and sure beats standing there with a brush in your hand or a blow dryer or using elbow grease! But, and I warn you, do NOT stand downwind when Mother Nature decides to groom your horse......ahhhh choooo!

  19. I was so worried! My Tess and I love to look at the pictures of your critters; she bumps her nose on the screen when she's ready for me to scroll down. She likes Smooch and thinks she is as big! Glad to see I haven't been "uninvited" like the Blog said I was :(

  20. I love the big pix, but - maybe it's just me - it takes a lot longer to load. Not to worry, I'll wait, but thought you'd like to know.
