Random acts of electricity

I had planned to have an official Christmas tree lighting ceremony this week. I would carefully arrange the boys on the other side of the fence, Smooch and I would gather 'round, and the camera would be perched on the tripod so all of you could share the moment.

The best-laid plans went kablewie (sp?) when I awoke yesterday morning to snow on the ground. I couldn't let the Kodak moment pass me by. I rushed outside in my pajamas and boots, plugged in the extension cord, and tried to capture the magic.

This is what a cowgirl's Christmas tree looks like at 6 a.m. on a snowy December day in New Mexico.

Who needs that big ole tree in Rockefeller Plaza when you can have a scraggly juniper propped against a t-post in the middle of nowhere?

  4. Your tree is charming and a lighted beacon shining in the middle of the New Mexico desert landscape surrounded by snow. What other tree could compete with that.

  5. The reflections on the snow are lovely. We got ten flakes of snow and a cup of water here in town. I wonder if that was it for this winter?

  6. Love, love, love it!

'Tis the Season for Simplistic Beauty. Maybe people should embrace our natural surroundings as you have.

Thank you for sharing it with us.
