A day after Thanksgiving tradition

The Friday after Thanksgiving is my day to hunker down and create the annual Christmas card.

Some years, it's pretty...

Other years, it's silly...

Lest you think I was a real artist, I did not paint the original watercolor. I commissioned a local artist to do that, then I modified it with Christmas decorations for that year's card.

And other years, it's a little disturbing.

I've got some ideas brewing for this year's edition and am anxious to get started. I want to get it all done today so that I can be ready to work on the piece for the winner of the giveaway. Don't forget – the contest closes tonight at 10 mountain time. If you haven't entered, go here. Come back tomorrow morning, when the winner will be announced. I can't wait to see who wins!

  4. the "disturbing" doctored photo must be before Deets joined your family? Or is he too free range to be dressed up? I love the gorgeous natural photos the best - you can't beat the 7MSN ranch for natural beauty!

  5. OMG, Linda, I LOVE the last one! I would hang that on my wall!

You are so inspiring. One year we did a family incl. horses portrait, but we have never attempted to get it on a card, or to include all the animals. I had hopes of doing a family calendar with photos of us/animals month by month, but that project eluded me this year, again.
