Somewhere over the rainbow...

...fell a tenth of an inch of rain early this evening. Oh happy day! Click on any of the pictures to enlarge them.

  1. Looks like you live on "Double Rainbow Ranch"! The light is just amazing and it looks like everyone, especially the horses, are just meditating and appreciating the rain and the beauty.

We got some rain tonight, which I'm grateful for, of course, but it always seems to be a sign to my Baby Doll to drop down and roll in the mud.

  2. I'm so glad I followed the link from Grey Horse Matters' blog to here, you take some beautiful photos and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of it after I leave this comment! I love the photo with the dog infront of the rainbow in this post, beautiful!

  3. Thanks for stopping by, Gecko. The coffee's always on and we love company.

Twinville, the whole herd stopped in their tracks last night to watch the rain. Did you notice that the burros were nowhere in sight? They were backed up into a Juniper tree - their own little umbrella.

  4. LOL - Rafer Johnson does not like the rain either.

You have added about three notches to the "pro" side with these gorgeous photos!

What a beautiful, pensive morning with the lovely light and double rainbow.

  7. Love the pics. The lighting is great, was that natural or did you do some editing afterwards?
Glad you got some rain...had to laugh at the boys hiding under the juniper. My sister's goats hate rain. They run to the barn whenever it rains. I think they are living in the wrong state!

  8. Pony girl, the lighting is all natural. There's just something about New Mexico light and skies. Georgia O'Keefe lived here for that very reason, I think.

  9. Beautiful pics of the rainbow and all your critters, The desert is always alive with its different lighting opportunities. I've always loved Georgia O'Keefe's works.

  10. Yes! Don't you just love that about NM?
Besides how the weather changes every 15 minutes, with the amazing skies and vibrant colors and light of earth and sky...it's no wonder so many artists call New Mexico home.
