The road less traveled

There are two ways out of here, and either way is a guaranteed adventure: the 11.4-mile route over Mud Flats, down Steep Rocky Hill and across five arroyos; or the 9-mile tire-eating, truck-crunching route down Slippery Slope Hill, through the swamplands, and under the railroad trestle. Pictures don’t begin to convey the thrills, but someday I'll make a video.

  1. I've always been a fan of the West. We used to visit my grandparents in Phoenix,Az. before it was so built up. There were actually tumbleweeds tumbling across the Black Canyon Freeway back then. The desert is always beautiful no matter what time of year but I love the spring when the flowers are blooming in the desert. Beautiful pictures.

  3. Well, there's something for you at my blog too, but I think it's the same as the one at Billie's - So you're twice honored!
